Allu Arjun granted interim bail by Telangana High Court, HC questions conduct of police

Pushpa 2 actor Allu Arjun has finally been granted an interim bail by the Telangana High Court. Earlier today, he was dramatically arrested from his home by the Chikkadapally police in Hyderabad over an FIR on the case where a woman was killed in a stampede at Sandhya theatre during the screening of his movie Pushpa 2.

The interim bail has been granted for a limited period and the High Court noted the actor’s right to liberty. The High Court also questioned the conduct of the Hyderabad police, asking, “Can his personal liberty be deprived just because he is an actor?”

“On this earth, he has the right to life and liberty. It can’t be taken away by virtue of being an actor”, the bench remarked.

The bench also added that the actor should not have been arrested in the first place. “It’s actually bothering me. Just because he is an actor, can he be held like this? There are no ingredients in the case that warrant such actions”, the bench remarked.

Advocate Niranj Reddy has approached the High Court for an interim bail on Allu Arjun’s behalf. Earlier today, the Nampally court had sent the actor on a 14-day judicial custody after rejecting his petition for regular bail.
