‘We will sit in Opposition for 20 years instead of joining hands with the man building Babri Masjid in Bengal’: Amit Shah rubbishes propaganda video of TMC involving Humayun Kabir

A day after the Mamata-led Trinamool Congress (TMC)released a purported video wherein its ex-MLA Humayun Kabir was boasting about his ties with the BJP, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had rubbished the claims.

During a press conference on Friday (10th April), a reporter asked, “The nomination ended yesterday. Today, you have released the manifesto. In the meantime, a video has been released by the Trinamool Congress regarding Humayun Kabir. It is being said that the BJP gave ₹1,000 crore to Humayun Kabir so that the election could be polarised. The names of two Chief Ministers have been mentioned in this matter. What does the BJP have to say about this?”

Amit Shah responded, “Brother, you are unaware of Mamata ji’s capabilities. Mamata ji can make 2000 such videos. Humayun Kabir and the BJP are like the South Pole and the North Pole. We can never be together.”

“We will sit in Opposition for 20 years instead of joining hands with the man who is building Babri Masjid in Bengal,” he dismantled the TMC propaganda.

For the unversed, TMC released a purported video on Thursday (9th April) wherein its ex-MLA Humayun Kabir was heard seeking ₹1000 crores from the BJP in exchange for not allowing Muslim vote bank division. After the video went viral, Kabir discredited the video as AI-generated.

“If they have proof of any meeting or nexus with BJP, let them show it. If proven, I will accept it. Otherwise, I will accept it. Otherwise, I will file cases,” he said.
