BSF catches 4 Pakistani fishermen in Gujarat’s Kutch, seizes boat near Sir Creek

The Border Security Force (BSF) caught four Pakistani fishermen and seized their fibre fishing boat in Gujarat’s Kutch district on Sunday, October 25. The fishermen were found in Indian waters near Sir Creek, a sensitive area along the India-Pakistan border. According to officials, they had entered Indian waters to catch crabs.

The fishermen have been identified as Kadir Thaimor, Muhammad Mussa, Azgar Thaimor and Ahsan Jat. All four are residents of Chach Jaan Khan village in Pakistan’s Sindh province.

The operation was carried out after the BSF received specific intelligence about the presence of Pakistani fishermen in the area. Acting on the information, BSF personnel reached the spot and caught the four men. Their fishing boat was also seized during the operation.

Sir Creek is a narrow, marshy tidal channel located in the Rann of Kutch between Gujarat and Pakistan’s Sindh province. The area is sensitive because it lies along the India-Pakistan border, making security patrols important to prevent unauthorised entry into Indian territory.

The latest incident in Gujarat is not the first time the BSF has caught Pakistani nationals trying to enter Indian territory. Several such cases have also been reported along the India-Pakistan border in 2026.

Pakistani national detained near Attari border

Earlier, the BSF detained a Pakistani national near the Attari border in Punjab after he continued moving towards Indian territory despite repeated warnings from security personnel.

The incident took place near the Pulmoran Kanchari border outpost, where personnel from the BSF’s 100th Battalion were on duty. During their patrol, the soldiers noticed a man moving suspiciously near the border fence.

The BSF personnel asked him to stop and warned him against moving further. However, he continued towards the Indian side. The soldiers then surrounded the area and took him into custody. The man was identified as Mohammad Awais, a resident of Bath village in Pakistan’s Faisalabad district.

Two Pakistani intruders killed in BSF firing in Tarn Taran

On October 2, 2026, the BSF killed two Pakistani intruders who were trying to enter India by crossing the International Border in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district.

According to officials, BSF personnel deployed along the border noticed suspicious movement around noon. The soldiers challenged the two men and repeatedly asked them to stop.

However, the two intruders continued moving towards the Indian side despite the warnings. The BSF personnel then opened fire after sensing a threat. Both men were killed in the firing.

The incident once again brought attention to the security measures in place along the India-Pakistan border, where the BSF remains on alert to prevent unauthorised crossings.
