Better safety, technology and facilities for students
The project will also focus on improving safety standards across school campuses. Fire safety measures will be strengthened, while faulty LED lights, ceiling fans, exhaust fans and public address (PA) systems will be replaced. High-mast lighting will also be installed to improve visibility inside the school premises.
Multipurpose halls and computer laboratories will be fitted with air conditioners and stage lighting. Schools will also receive LED signboards carrying the CM SHRI branding, built-in RO water coolers, upgraded electrical panels, new wiring, additional power points and LAN connectivity.
Special attention will be given to making schools more accessible for children with special needs by developing ramps, tactile pathways and handrails. CCTV surveillance systems, compound lighting and sports grounds will also be modernised as part of the project.
The government aims to create modern school campuses
Highlighting the vision behind the initiative, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, “The project will completely transform the appearance of school campuses. Modern CM SHRI entrance gates will be developed. Wherever the existing boundary walls are in good condition, only minor repairs will be carried out while retaining the grit finish. Fencing will be painted. Modern outdoor galleries will be developed in playgrounds to be used for outdoor classes, recreation, interactive activities and collaborative learning.”
Officials said the government has set a target of completing the entire project by the end of 2027.
