A shocking incident has come to light from Jehanabad in Bihar, where a 5-year-old girl was raped by a 19-year-old Muslim from her own neighbourhood on the day of Ram Navami. The incident took place under the Nagar police station area and has left the entire locality disturbed.
According to the complaint filed by the girl’s mother, the girl was playing near her house when she was kidnapped by the accused. He lured the girl to his house and committed the crime there. After some time, the girl came back home crying. Her family asked her what had happened, and she told her mother everything.
As the news spread in the area, the accused had fled. But the next day, when he returned to the locality, people recognised him, caught him, and beat him up before informing the police.
The Police reached the spot and took the accused into custody. However, when he was taken to the hospital, people present got furious and attacked him. The angry mob shouted slogans demanding that the accused be handed over to them and punished on the spot. The incident occurred at Sadar Hospital in the Nagar police station area, where police struggled to control the situation.
The police took a firm stand and were ultimately able to manage the situation. After tight security and considerable effort, the police team was able to get the accused medically examined and return him to the police station.
Angry locals also vandalised the house of the accused, and police forces were deployed to control the situation. Three youths were detained for the vandalism.
An FIR has been registered against the accused based on the complaint by the mother, and the accused has been arrested. He has been sent to judicial custody.
The child has also been given a medical examination, and police said further action will be taken after the report comes in. The investigation is still ongoing, and all aspects of the case are being examined.
The incident has sparked widespread anger among residents, with people demanding justice for the child and strict punishment for the accused.
Sadar SDPO Manish Chandra Chaudhary stated that following the rape of the 5-year-old girl, some people became enraged and vandalised the accused’s home. The situation has been resolved through pacification. Some people had gathered at the hospital for no reason, but the police dispersed the crowd. The situation is currently under control. Following this incident, additional police forces have been deployed in sensitive areas and at the hospital.
