West Bengal: Cops detain 3 Rohingya Muslims from railway station, infiltrators wanted to go to Kashmir for ‘jobs’

On Saturday (18th January) morning, the Government Railway Police (GRP) detained three Rohingya Muslim infiltrators from the Sealdah station in Kolkata.

According to reports, the accused were identified as Abdul Rehman and two minor girls. The three illegal immigrants were planning to travel to Kashmir. They are residents of the Bhusidom area in Myanmar.

The trio camped in Bangladesh before illegally entering West Bengal. As per the police, they boarded a train to Sealdah from any bordering area of the Indian state.

The GRP nabbed Abdul Rehman and the two minors. In his defence, Abdul alleged that he was being ‘tortured’ in Bangladesh.

It has come to light that Abdul had promised lucrative jobs to the underage girls in Kashmir and wanted to take advantage of their financial situation.

In a statement, a GRP officer said, “We have to verify the statement of Abdul to ascertain whether he is speaking the truth or he is the middleman of any woman trafficking racket.”
