Tamil Nadu: Woman kills 5-month-old son for her lesbian lover, both arrested

In Tamil Nadu’s  Krishnagiri, a 25-year-old woman and her lesbian partner have been arrested for the murder of a 5-month-old infant, the son of the former.

As per reports, 25-year-old Bharathi and her lesbian lover Sumithra were arrested for the murder of 5-month-old Dhruvan, Bharathi’s son on November 2.

As per a report in the Times of India, the accused, named Bharathi, from the Chinnatti village, has two more children, both girls, aged 5 and 3. Bharathi’s husband K Suresh had recently discovered her lesbian affair and was frequently fighting with her at home.

On November 2, Bharathi allegedly suffocated her infant son and told her family members that the child suddenly died. The family members, who were away for work during the day, had believed her and buried the child. However, Suresh had some suspicion on his wife and he had approached the Kelamangalam police for an investigation into the child’s death.

Upon investigation, the police found a photo of the dead child, sent by Bharathi to Sumithra, confirming the murder. Other chats, photos and videos revealed an intimate relationship between Bharathi and Sumithra. Upon interrogation, both Bharathi and Sumithra had confessed to the crime, and Sumithra was found to have plotted the murder. They have been arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
