A shocking incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar, where a 23-year-old woman named Syeda cut off her 67-year-old father-in-law, Zaki’s, private parts with a nail-cutting blade, saying he had been raping and harassing her continuously for the last two years. The incident took place in Safipur Patti on Chanderi Road in the Budhana area on Friday, 17th July.

Zakir was first taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC). As his condition became serious, doctors referred him to the district hospital for further treatment. Police reached the spot soon after getting information and took the woman into custody for questioning.
Syeda told police that her husband works as a rickshaw driver in Haryana and stays away from home most of the time. She lived with her two young sons and her father-in-law. She said she had informed people in the neighbourhood several times about the abuse she was facing, but no one took her seriously.
Neighbours also said the woman had often shared her problems with them. A resident, Nazra, said the family mostly kept to themselves, so people did not know what was happening inside the house, even though the woman had repeatedly spoken about her suffering.
Budhana Circle Officer Gajendra Pal Singh said the Police Response Vehicle (PRV) received information that a woman had attacked her father-in-law with a blade. Police shifted the injured man to the hospital and recorded the woman’s statement. He said no written complaint has been received from either side so far. Once a complaint is filed, a case will be registered under the relevant sections based on the facts and evidence, and further legal action will be taken. Police are investigating all aspects of the case.
