A shocking case has come to light from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, where a Muslim head constable posted at the Quarsi police station has been suspended after he was caught demanding sexual favours from a rape victim, which he was supposed to help. The accused, Imran Khan, is now facing legal action after an FIR was registered on the orders of the SSP.
The matter came out when the victim presented audio evidence against the head constable. She had recorded their conversation, in which Imran Khan was heard making inappropriate demands and even asking for a physical relationship in exchange for the progress of the case. After verifying the recording, senior police officials have suspended Imran Khan.
According to the complaint, the woman had come to the police earlier to report a case of rape committed by another man, which Imran Khan was investigating.
During the investigation, he started sending objectionable messages on WhatsApp and even asked her to share private photos.
He also pressured her to meet him at a hotel around Eid, stating that since they were both Muslims, she would have to come to him and stay the night if she wanted her case to move forward. He even threatened to send her to jail if she refused.
After the complaint and evidence, the police have started strict legal actions against the accused constable.
