A horrifying incident recently came to light in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, where a father repeatedly raped his minor daughter. Accused Asadul Sheikh was arrested by police on Saturday (8th November) after the girl’s mother informed the police about his acts.
As per reports, Sheikh raped his 14-year-old daughter multiple times for two years in their home. Sheikh’s acts were exposed after his daughter told her mother about it. The mother noticed her daughter, the victim, crying a few days ago and asked her the reason. That’s when the victim told her that her father had been raping her repeatedly. The mother was devastated after coming to know about Sheikh’s acts. She went to the police station and submitted a written complaint.
Additional Superintendent of police for the Diamond Harbour Police District, Mithun Kumar Dey, confirmed that the accused has been arrested. “We have arrested the accused father, Ashadul Sheikh, who sexually assaulted his minor daughter multiple times under coercion,” Dey said. “A case has been registered against the father based on the complaint. Investigation is on,” he added.

The victim was rescued with the help of the Diamond Harbour Women’s Police Station. She was sent to the Diamond Harbour Government Medical College and Hospital for a medical examination.
