Perplexity AI founder Aravind Srinivas has highlighted Wikipedia’s political and ideological bias, asserting that there is a need to build an alternative to the online global encyclopaedia.
It’s pretty clear that Wikipedia is biased. I’m happy to support anyone who wants to build an alternative to it that’s more neutral and unbiased using Perplexity APIs. It’s a long project that needs serious commitment. So, please ping if you want to do it.

It is notable here that Wikipedia’s political and ideological bias, added with its flawed practices of censoring information and at times, peddling blatant misinformation through some vested interest groups have been drawing a lot of attention recently. Elon Musk has been vocal about Wikipedia’s extreme bias and has offered to pay 1 Billion dollars if they agree to name themselves ‘D*ck*pedia’.
OpIndia had compiled a detailed dossier documenting instances of Wikipedia’s political bias and efforts to censor information to aid certain political groups. The dossier can be read here.
