The PWD officials, reportedly, sought logistics and police assistance for demolishing these temples first on 21st February and then on 28th March, however, it was said that the demolition had been scheduled specifically for 15th of April.
"When I was released from jail in the evening, I found out that the temple had been destroyed. They had also begun illegal construction in a manner that the foundation of my boundary wall would collapse," Durga Roy narrated.
According to temple committee officials, the local Muslims have prepared fake documents from the office of the District Commissioner to stake a claim on the Hindu land.
