'Hizb ut-Tahrir' has now found a political space under the Yunus regime. The organisation was peviously banned by the Sheikh Hasina government in October 2009 due to security concerns.
Under the patronage of Muhammad Yunus and his Islamist allies, banned militant organizations such as Hizb ut-Tahrir (HuT) and Hamas are expanding their networks, posing a significant threat to regional and global security.
Hizb ut-Tahrir had planned a conference in Mississauga in 2024 as well but it was cancelled a day after United Kingdom listed it as a designated terrorist organisation. At that time, the website, that was active since 2012, YouTube channel, Facebook, Instagram and X accounts of the group were deleted or deactivated.

Hizb ut-Tahrir has been expanding its presence in India. Recently, OpIndia reported that the National Investigating Agency conducted multiple searches at several locations in connection to the terror outfit. Two of its members, Abdul Rehman and Mujibur Rehman were arrested by NIA for indoctrinating youths.
Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Friday said that that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) took over the investigation of the recently busted Bhopal-Hyderabad module of the radical Islamic organisation Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT).
