Rahul Gandhi's resentment towards Uttar Pradesh is understandable given that the party has been reduced to two seats in the state. In recent elections, the voters have overwhelmingly rejected the Congress party.
While the BJP has not only managed to deflect INDI Alliance parties like the JDU and RLD, and is likely to forge an alliance with the BJD in Odisha and TDP-JSP in Andhra Pradesh, the Congress-led I.N.D.I. Alliance suffering jolts after jolts. Interestingly, even the most hardcore anti-Modi parties are deserting the “sinking ship”.
Pragya Mishra claimed that the loss in Rajya Sabha election would benefit Samajwadi Party in the 2024 Lok Sabha poll, because the 'traitor' MLAs have been filtered out.
He further stated that if talks did not succeed then the AAP would announce candidates on the six seats of its choice and get on with election preparations.
"A challenge has been posed before you from West Bengal that Congress will not be able to cross 40 (in Lok Sabha elections 2024). I pray that you are able to secure 40," the Prime Minister said.
According to JDU leader KC Tyagi, Nitish Kumar never hankered after a position in the alliance but a section of the Congress leadership repeatedly insulted him.
