Uttar Pradesh Board of Madrassa Education announced that singing of national anthem along with other morning prayers will be mandatory for students in madrassas
The SIT found that Zaheen Ahmed, the Chairman of the Board which runs the madarsa in Mubarakpur in Azamgarh, had appointed 3 of his daughters, namely, Alisha Siddiqui, Rubana Zaheen, and Ibtesan Zaheen as Assistant teachers.
The Prime Minister's 15-Point Programme Implementation Committee in Uttarakhand has been seeking ₹27 crores from the Central government for the project.
Sarma stated that the bill does not concern private institutions. The government-funded madarsas will be converted to regular schools and only Quran teaching will be stopped.
