The ED along with NIA and different state police forces has been conducting a nationwide crackdown on the Popular Front of India (PFI)

Two PFI workers were reported to have thrown petrol bombs at the RSS office in Mattanur, Kannur.

The Court has impleaded PFI State General Secretary A Abdul Sathar as an additional respondent in the case and has directed the State government to file a report. The matter will be taken up next on September 29.

Stones were also hurled at vehicles in the districts of Kerala by the PFI workers.

The members of PFI have taken to the streets in as many as 8 states where the NIA has conducted raids on locations linked to the radical Islamic organization

In December last year, the workers of the Social Democratic Party of India (the political wing of the PFI) murdered BJP leader Ranjith Sreenivasan in the Alappuzha district of Kerala. The perpetrators broke into Sreenivasan’s house in the wee hours on December 19 and hacked him to death.

NIA conducted this raid in connection with the operation of a terrorist training camp in disguise of the Karate Training Center by the PFI.
