Akhilesh Yadav led SP registered its worst performance in MP since 1998. It could not even open its account and got the lowest vote share to date. It only received 0.46% votes in this election, which is less than NOTA (0.98%).
It is worth recalling that in October this year, Akhilesh Yadav had accused Congress of betraying him as Congress refused to give tickets for six seats as demanded by Yadav. When asked by the media about this, Kamalnath said, "Arey chhodiye Akhilesh Vakhilesh.."
“We were hopeful of at least five or six seats, but the Congress didn’t clarify its stand on our demands till the very last moment. This was done as a ploy so we don’t go solo or ally with any other party,” an RLD leader in UP told Indian Express.
In a scathing attack on the Congress, Yadav accused Congress of double-speak and acting as the “B-team of the BJP”. He stressed that Congress doesn’t want to ally with the Samajwadi Party and is also speaking against another I.N.D.I.A. alliance partner AAP. Afterward, he asserted that Congress would get a befitting reply from the PDA.
