New Delhi-based 'independent news site' courted controversy after falsely attributing the murder of an exorcist, accused of sexually harassing a woman, to Bajrang Dal.

Retd Lt CDR Gokul, a Congress leader, took to Twitter to admit that he had sent vulgar messages to girl on social media.

After drinking the water offered by the girl, the accused caught hold of her hands forcibly and touched her inappropriately. He kissed her twice on her cheek to say 'thank you', as per the victim's complaint.

According to police, a case has been registered under sections 420 (cheating), 376 IPC (rape), and 506 IPC (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and an investigation is underway.

The Sessions Court in Kozhikode district granted anticipatory bail to a social activist accused Civic Chandran in a sexual harassment case.

The complaint was filed on July 20 in which the employee stated that she was molested by a Kannur Corporation councillor. She also said that she was alone in the office when the incident took place.

While leveling allegations, the victim said, "Nadeem Iqbal kept on sexually molesting me and also involved his friends. He also had me videotaped and later kept on blackmailing me."

A 13-year-old boy was raped by two clerics at Madani Madrasa in Bapunagar. The police are on the lookout for the accused.

A case under various relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the offending student of JNU.
