Congress leader Udit Raj triggers row by blaming BJP for Pulwama Attack, says another Pulwama like attack may happen before 2024 elections

He asked on Twitter why the CRPF jawans were sent through road and not by air and if the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had, in any way, known from prior that this could happen.

Congress leader from Delhi Udit Raj has triggered a controversy by blaming the BJP for the Pulwama attacks. Raj also backed his party’s former president Rahul Gandhi who had asked ‘who benefitted by Pulwama attack?’ on the first anniversary of the deadly attack on a CRPF convoy last year.

In a series of tweets, Udit Raj blamed the centre for the Pulwama attack and alleged that they did it for electoral gains ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He also said that another Pulwama attack may happen before 2024 general elections, implying that BJP may trigger such an attack for electoral benefit.

He asked on Twitter why the CRPF jawans were sent through road and not by air and if the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had, in any way, known from prior that this could happen.

In one of his tweets, Udit Raj said that BJP had gone out on a candle march across India, which was the work of the Opposition, but it was done by the ruling party. Holding BJP responsible for the Pulwama attack, Udit Raj tweeted that opposition had to question BJP as they had questioned Congress after 26/11.

In one of his tweets, he attacked and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging that he is responsible for Gujrat riots and citing that Pulwama kind of attacks can happen in the country in the future.

Udit raj is a spokesperson of the Indian National Congress who had earlier left BJP after he was rejected a ticket for contesting General elections.

Pulwama attack was a massive explosion carried out by an attacker in Pulwama on 14 February 2014 which took the lives of 40 CRPF jawans. Congress left no stone unturned in terming the attack as the center’s tactic to win general elections and also questioned the retaliation of Indian Air Force’s Balakot strike.
