Tirupati laddu row: Naidu accuses Jagan government of adulterating ghee with industrial chemicals

In Andhra Pradesh, CM N. Chandrababu Naidu has made serious allegations against former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his government over the adulteration of laddu prasadam at the Tirupati temple. CM Naidu said that during Jagan Mohan’s tenure, ghee used for preparing the laddus offered to Lord Venkateswara Swamy was mixed with chemicals used for cleaning bathrooms.

Speaking at a public event in the Kurnool district, Naidu said this act was not only a betrayal of faith but also deeply hurt the sentiments of crores of devotees. He claimed that the investigation agencies’ charge sheets have revealed that plant oil and hazardous industrial chemicals were mixed into the ghee.

He also said that former TTD chairman Y. V. Subba Reddy had himself admitted to the adulteration. According to the Chief Minister, after his government came to power, steps were taken to fix the system, and as a result, the quality of the prasadam has now improved.

Meanwhile, the YSR Congress Party has outright rejected these allegations, saying they are false propaganda being spread for political gain. Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the CBI report does not confirm the presence of animal fat anywhere and that no leader of his party has been named in the charge sheet.
