The person’s remarks deeply disturbed Kharge, who stared at the man with anger and frustration and yelled at him, saying, “Modi ka to baap bhi jaega” (Not just Modi, even his father will have to go). Kharge then went on to call PM Modi a liar. “Modi has a habit of lying. He falsely promised the people of the country to bring back black money,” Kharge added.

Congress’s history of launching personal attacks on PM Modi
This is not the first time that PM Modi has been subjected to derogatory personal attacks by Congress politicians. During a public event in Gadag district of Karnataka in 2023, Kharge likened PM Modi to a “poisonous snake”. “Modi is like a poisonous snake. Don’t try to lick this snake to check whether it is venomous or not. If you taste it, you are dead,” Kharge said.
In 2017, senior Congress leader Manishankar Aiyer demeaned Prime Minister Modi by calling him a “neech kisam ka aadmi” (a lowly casteist slur). After his remarks attracted major backlash, Congress suspended Aiyar from primary membership and issued him a show-cause notice. Aiyar tendered an apology and was reinstated. However, later in 2019, Aiyar justified his denigrating remark by saying that he described PM Modi accurately.
Last year in September, ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, the Congress Party launched a similar personal attack against PM Modi, targeting his late mother. Bihar Congress shared an AI video showing characters resembling PM Modi and his late mother Heeraben. The video showed PM Modi falling asleep and seeing his late mother, who appears angry, in his dream. She accuses PM Modi of using her name for politics.
In August last year, a person shouted vulgar abuses against Prime Minister Modi and his late mother from the stage during a Congress-RJD rally organised by Congress leader Mohammad Naushad. The person abused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother with slurs such as “Maderch*od” during the Congress-RJD rally in Darbhanga, Bihar. Mohammad Naushad later apologised on behalf of the person after facing the heat.
In 2018, the then Rajasthan Congress MLA Mahendra Jeet Singh Malviya hurled extremely vulgar abuses against PM Modi at a public rally and mocked him. It is evident from the above-mentioned instances that the Congress leaders have a consistent track record of hurling abuses at PM Modi. It seems that the Congress party’s frustration from facing repeated electoral defeats manifests in the form of their foul-mouthedness.
