UP: CM Yogi transfers Rs 900 crore for beneficiaries of PM Awas Yojana, asks authorities to develop housing schemes for teachers, lawyers, journalists on properties seized from mafias

On Monday, 16th March, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath transferred Rs 900 crore as the first instalment to 90,000 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Urban 2.0.

During the program in Lucknow, CM Yogi also suggested that government officials develop housing schemes for teachers, lawyers, doctors and journalists.

The Chief Minister said that if required, properties confiscated from mafias could also be used for such housing projects.

The Chief Minister stated that before 2017, a large amount of government land in the state was illegally occupied. These lands have now been cleared and are being used for the benefit of the people of Uttar Pradesh.

CM Yogi further directed officials to prioritise the clearance of such lands, wherever they are still under illegal occupation.
