Changed shifts, light uniforms, focus on hydration: Delhi schools adopt diverse measures to tackle heatwave

Amidst the heatwave, the Directorate of Education (DoE) issued guidelines for schools across Delhi on 21st April.

Acting in accordance with the guidelines, schools across the national capital have begun intensifying measures to ensure relief for students.

From shifting the timings of outdoor activities, installing green nets, to increasing focus on hydration, schools are adopting diverse methods in view of rising temperatures.

As per the guidelines, school authorities across Delhi have been instructed to curb outdoor activities, including assembly time, ringing a water bell to remind students to stay hydrated, asking students to monitor each other’s health, and switching to breathable cotton clothing.
