Prayagraj horror: Musharraf rapes a 14-year-old girl, tortures her with cigarette burns; arrested after encounter with UP Police

On 21st June (Sunday), a man named Musharraf, a prime accused in the case concerning the rape and brutalisation of a 14-year-old girl, was arrested by the authorities after an encounter. The incident transpired in Prayagraj of Uttar Pradesh. The man had been absconding for a long time. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA and former minister Sidharth Nath Singh also met with the victim’s family, promising them tough action against the culprit, similar to that taken against mafia figures Atiq and Ashraf.

According to media reports, the family of the minor unveiled that the Muslim man entered the property and forcibly kidnapped her on 14th June, while everyone was asleep on the roof of their house. He subsequently took her to a remote location near the village, where he sexually violated her. The two lived in the same hamlet.

She attempted to resist, but Musharraf inflicted torture upon her by burning her body parts with cigarettes. After the heinous deed, he left the unconscious teenager near her home and fled the scene. Family members and other residents found her and quickly transported her to the hospital in a critical state. The police filed a case, conducted an extensive medical examination of the underage girl and initiated a search for the accused.

On the evening of Sunday, police learned about Musharraf’s presence during a vehicle inspection. The face-off happened on the road from Fatehpur Ghat to Tikri. When confronted, he discharged a firearm and tried to flee. However, he sustained gunshot wounds to both legs in the ensuing exchange of gunfire. He was then apprehended and taken to the hospital for treatment. Additionally, an unlicensed homemade pistol, two live cartridges and two empty shells were seized from the site. The police are now searching for other two accused.
