Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has hit back at entertainer Rakhi Sawant over her recent controversial remarks about Kangana and former Union minister Smriti Irani. Reacting to Rakhi Sawant’s comments on 14th September, Kangana Ranaut called her “unsuccessful and bitter” and said that people who are jealous of successful women often resort to personal attacks and character assassination.
The controversy started after a recent clip from Rakhi Sawant’s appearance on the podcast MK Talks, hosted by Mohsin Khan, went viral on social media. During the conversation, Rakhi Sawant made suggestive vulgar remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi while referring to Kangana Ranaut and Smriti Irani and questioning how they rose in politics.
Sharing the screengrab of OpIndia’s post on her Instagram stories, Kangana Ranaut wrote, “Not just her but most unsuccessful and bitter people are quick to character lynch successful women to satisfy and justify their jealousy/envy, failures and ego but high time we stop being vulnerable to such frequent, intentional attacks and public character assassination, we must stop feeling humiliated and hurt and stop over-explaining ourselves.”
Ranaut then directly addressed Sawant and said, “So yes my loves!! Even you are ready to do everything for success but guess what!! Unfortunately no one needs anything from you, remember, all your favours combined never got you even a sweeper’s job all that needs some quality and talent so be rest assured favours or no favours you aren’t going anywhere, so sit down watch my reels and keep crying.”
What did Rakhi Sawant say about Kangana and Smriti Irani?
Sawant’s remarks came during her conversation with Mohsin Khan on MK Talks. The podcast episode was released on August 26, but the particular portion involving Kangana, Smriti Irani and PM Modi has now gained widespread attention online.
During the conversation, the host reminded Rakhi Sawant that she had previously asked PM Modi for a “lotus”. Sawant replied, “I’m lotus only, born in mud.” She then went on to make a series of suggestive comments involving the Prime Minister, Kangana Ranaut and Smriti Irani.
“Why is Modi ji looking here and there? What will he get from Kangana apart from bones? Modi ji, what have these Smriti, Kangana and all these women given you that you made them ministers? So whatever they gave you, I can also give you,” she said.

When the host asked her what she meant, Sawant replied, “What? Love! Big respect!” while making gestures that added a suggestive meaning to her words. When the host pointed out that her statement could be interpreted differently, Rakhi said she was talking about “respect”. “These people gave respect; I will also give you respect, Modi ji,” she said.
The conversation then continued with references to Kangana Ranaut and Smriti Irani. Sawant also remarked, “I thought Modi ji was a simple and straightforward saint.”
The comments have drawn criticism because they did not simply question the political careers of Kangana and Smriti but used sexual innuendo to suggest that women could have received political positions in exchange for personal or sexual favours.
Rakhi Sawant has targeted Kangana Ranaut before
This is not the first time Rakhi Sawant has made personal remarks about Kangana Ranaut. During the controversy surrounding the CJP protests, Sawant had attacked Ranaut over her comments about Gen Z, women and students.
In July, Sawant called Ranaut a “chudail” and a “gutter mouth” while questioning her political career. She also asked, “What did you do to become an MP? If you ever go out and contest elections, you won’t even get people’s votes.”
Sawant had also referred to the 2024 Chandigarh airport incident involving Ranaut, in which a CISF constable slapped the BJP MP. She suggested that Kangana would continue to face public anger if she made such comments.
The latest exchange has once again brought attention to the way women in public life are targeted through personal attacks and sexualised remarks.
