A serious case of love jihad has come to light, involving a Hindu girl from Madhya Pradesh. On 25th September, she and her family reached Pathri police station and filed a complaint. She was lured into a trap by a Muslim man named Shahrukh, who hid his real identity and posed as ‘Aman Singh’ on Instagram, sexually exploited her and forced her to embrace Islam, reported Dainik Jagran.
She was also called to Haridwar on the promise of marriage. Afterwards, he pressured her to convert to Islam for marriage and forced himself on her when she refused to comply. Police have registered a case against Shahrukh, his mother, his brother and another man, Sameer, and have started searching for them. Hindu outfits have helped the victim and her family.
Woman met Shahrukh through Instagram
The young woman is from the Sarai Mohalla area of Satna district in Madhya Pradesh. She came in contact with Shahrukh on Instagram around four years ago. At that time, his Instagram account used the name ‘Aman Singh,’ and he used the same identity to introduce himself.
The two continued talking for several years. In 2024, the Instagram ID was changed to ‘Shahrukh,’ but the complainant added that he continued to masquerade as Aman. On 13th September, she left her home to meet him in Haridwar, believing that they would get married. She reached Delhi Railway Station at around 5 am the next day, where he met her and took her to a room.
The woman was pressured to convert
According to the complaint, Shahrukh told the girl that he was Muslim and that she would have to convert to Islam if she wanted to marry him, after which she protested, and he forced himself on her.
She also told the police that his mother and brother also pressured her over the matter and locked her inside a room with the help of another man named Sameer when she did not adhere to their demands. She said she remained there for around three days and was not even provided with food.
On 18th September, the girl was found in a hospital in an unconscious state. According to her complaint, Shahrukh reached the hospital the following day and took her away in his vehicle.
She said he later left her unconscious at an unknown location. After she regained consciousness, she contacted her brother and told her family about her ordeal.
Her family then brought her back and decided to approach the police.
Case registered at Pathri police station
Pathri police station in-charge Ravindra Kumar confirmed that a case has been registered against Shahrukh, his mother, his brother and Sameer. Police teams are searching for the accused and examining the complaint and other details related to the case. Police are now working to establish the complete sequence of events. Further action will be taken as the investigation progresses.
