Miss Universe Netherlands 2023 is a biological male who identifies as ‘transwoman’, Rikkie Valerie Kolle says ‘she’ made LGBTQ community proud

In its first, a biological male who identifies himself a trans woman bagged the title of Miss Universe Netherlands 2023 on Saturday, July 8 at the AFAS Theater in Leusden. The Dutch-Moluccan model who won the title has been identified as Rikkie Valerie Kolle and he hails from Breda.

According to the reports, the 22-year-old model will now prepare to represent the Netherlands at the 72nd Miss Universe in El Salvador. The model who appeared on a Dutch TV reality show ‘Holland’s Next Top Model’ celebrated his win by posting a photograph on Instagram.

“It’s unreal. But I can call myself Miss Netherlands 2023. It was an educational and wonderful process. My year can’t go wrong anymore. I am so proud and happy. I can’t even describe it. I made my community proud and showed it can be done,” he wrote roughly in Dutch.

The model, in the post also happened to thank his parents, family, judges and friends and said that he was excited to prepare now for the Miss Universe at El Salvador where he would represent Netherlands. “And wherever you are in the world, I want to be there for you and be the example that I myself missed as a little me,” he said.

The model created history by being the first transgender ‘woman’ to ever win the national title as the new Miss Universe Netherlands. Additionally, he is just the second transgender contestant in the history of the famous Miss Universe competition. Spain’s Angela Ponce competed in 2018.

Kollé wishes to be an internationally recognized voice and role model for the LGBTQ community and wants to devote his professional life to helping people who have experienced rejection from their family while through a transition.

Meta controlling who you follow on Threads? Netizens flag censorship of non-Left voices

Competitors, critics, and netizens alike have called out Meta for its censorship policies on the recently-launched social media platform, Threads. The platform was launched on 6th of July as a competitor to Twitter.

Owner and CTO of Twitter, Elon Musk has already threatened to sue Meta for infringing Twitter’s intellectual property after the launch of Threads.

Now, a Twitter user DogeDesigner @cb_doge has called out Meta for “trying to control whom you follow”. The user shared an image of Threads showing how when he wanted to follow user Donald Trump Jr, he was asked, “Are you sure you want to follow donaldjtrumpjr?”.

The alert further read, “This account has repeatedly posted false information that was reviewed by independent fact-checkers or went against our Community Guidelines.” Elon Musk replied to the post with exclamation marks.

Another user named Ruge @EhaRouge who replied to the post said their Threads account is already flagged.

The warning was tweeted by Donald Trump Jr saying, “Threads not exactly off to a great start.”

On 7 July, Republicans and right-wing politicians in the United States called out Meta for censoring conservative voices. Another right-wing user was banned immediately after he posted his first message on Threads criticising the Biden government.

Another popular social media account called “Libs of TikTok” was reportedly banned for alleged “hate speech”. A screenshot of the same was shared by the page on Twitter.

On 7th July, Twitter’s legal team wrote a letter to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stating, “Twitter has substantial concerns that Meta Platforms has engaged in systematic, deliberate, and unlawful misappropriation of Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual property.”

They alleged that Meta hired dozens of former Twitter employees who still have access to Twitter’s trade secrets and other confidential information.

Netizens, experts flag privacy and censorship issues with Threads

Some reports have termed Threads a “privacy nightmare” for its “ability to collect highly sensitive information about users in order to profile their digital activity”.

Last week, the European Union’s Court of Justice reportedly observed that “consent is the only appropriate legal basis for tracking and profiling-driven personalised content and behavioural advertising, which is Meta’s key source of money.

Back in December 2021, Facebook admitted that the “fact checks” used to police what the people of the United States read and watch was just “opinions”. The admission by the social media giant came during the hearing of a lawsuit brought by celebrated journalist John Stossel that exposed the unreal battle against alleged “misinformation” by the left-liberals.

Khalistanis stomp the Indian flag with shoes, assault an Indian trying to save the flag. Here is what happened

On Saturday (8th July), pro-Khalistani elements participated in protest rallies against India, claiming the Indian agencies were behind the assassination of Khalistani terrorists and ‘Sikhs For Justice’ leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. These rallies were held in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.

During the rally, Khalistani elements desecrated the Indian flag. Videos went viral on social media wherein they were seen burning two Indian flags. In one of the videos, a pro-India man was brutally assaulted by Khalistanis when he tried to pick up the Indian flag from under their shoes.

Notably, most rallies failed to attract support from the local Khalistanis. Several locals and Indian community members came out to counter Khalistanis’ attempts by holding Indian National Flag at the protest sites. Two Khalistanis were also detained by the police following violence at the rally in Toronto.

Indian flag desecrated in Vancouver and Surrey

In a detailed video shared by Hindustan Times, a Khalistani, while being detained, could be seen raising pro-Khalistan slogans.

In another shot in the video, a pro-India man was being taken away by the police while pro-Khalistani elements tried to charge at him. Indian community raised National Flag to counter the Khalistani rally and raised ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ slogans.

Vijay Jain, a member of the Indian diaspora, accused the ruling Liberal Party in Canada of allowing such protests.

He said, “This tension, what we see in the last few years, has gone up. Specifically, I would say after the Liberal Party has taken charge. We are very concerned because we feel that such activities damage the Indian and Canadian relationations, and we don’t want that to happen. We want very strong India-Canada relationships.”

A similar incident was reported in Surrey, where hundreds of Khalistanis gathered at the protest site. Twitter user Jagdeep Singh shared a video.

In a video shared by ANI Editor Smita Prakash, Khalistanis were seen holding the Khalistani flag while placing a torn Indian flag on the railing. They beat up the flag with a shoe with slogans of ‘Khalistan Zindabad’ in the background.

Prakash wrote, “Make your Khalistan in downtown Toronto. Filthy chaps desecrating the Indian flag.”

Jagdeep Singh shared a video from Italy where a Khalistani was giving a speech in Italian while another Khalistani was standing on the Indian flag.

Stop Hindu Hate Advocacy Network (SHHAN) shared a video from Vancouver where Khalistani’s burnt an Indian flag. Around 50 Khalistanis gathered to join the ‘Kill India’ protest rally.

In another video, a member of the Indian community was brutally trashed by Khalistanis for trying to save the Indian flag.

Nijjar was killed on 18th June, and since then, Khalistanis have accused Indian agencies of his assassination. Nijjar was a known associate of Sikhs For Justice’s chief Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun.

After Nijjar’s murder, several Khalistani elements, including Pannun, went underground. There were rumours that Pannun was also killed in a road accident, which was later debunked.

Following the accusations and threats to Indian diplomats in countries like Canada, the US and the UK, the Minister of External Affairs, Government of India, has expressed its concerns to its counterparts and asked to take strict action against the pro-Khalistani elements on their land.

Twitter shows Gilgit Baltistan as a part of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, blocks Pakistan govt handle complying with Indian law

Twitter reportedly blocked Pakistan’s official Twitter account in Gilgit-Baltistan and is showing the region’s location in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Dawn reported.

As per the Pakistani English-language newspaper, even after the users turn on the location feature on the app, tweets sent from the region are marked as originating from J-K. The locals explicitly showed changes in Twitter location and blocked access to Pakistan Government’s official account.

The issue came to light when several Twitter users in Gilgit-Baltistan complained that they were unable to access the government’s official account from the region.

When users tried to access the account, a message was displayed stating the “account has been withheld in India in response to a legal demand”.

The newspaper reported that Pakistani officials denied any such changes and termed the claim ‘baseless’ despite dozens of reports to the contrary. “There are no restrictions on the freedom of the internet, media, and expression in the entire Gilgit Baltistan,” officials said.

The Pakistani government’s official account has been banned in India since March 2023. In 2022, the account was withheld twice over “legal complaints”.

“I am in #GilgitBaltistan & @Twitter can’t show tweets from @GovtofPakistan, saying that account has been withheld in India in response to a legal demand! Hello @TwitterSupport, I’m in Pakistan why can’t I see tweets from various accounts I follow including the one mentioned?,” tweeted Yasir Hussain, a resident of the Rahimabad area of Gilgit, according to Dawn.

While talking with Dawn, Hussain said that when he tried to add the location to his tweets, he found that the app located him in the Union Territory of J-K, rather than GB.

He further stated that the officials in Pakistan should take “serious cognisance” of this matter as India “might have influenced Twitter to change GB’s geotagging”.

Another Twitter user, Karim Shah Nizari also reported that he can’t add Pakistan’s location to his tweets. “The only option we are getting is Jammu and Kashmir.”

Mr Nizari told Dawn that he was based in the Yasin Valley of Ghizer district, but the Twitter algorithm was showing him tweets from India on his feed.

The GB government said those making such claims on social media should stop spreading fake news. Users in GB said the social media platform has “disrespected the status of Gilgit-Baltistan” and called it an attack on the region’s identity, Dawn reported.

Syria: Islamic State terrorist Osama al-Mujaher killed in a drone strike, says US

0

The US military has claimed that a drone strike in eastern Syria killed an ISIS leader, reported Al Jazeera. Osama al-Muhajer was killed in the strike on Friday, according to a statement released on Sunday by the US Central Command.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) chief Michael Kurilla said, “We have made it clear that we remained committed to the defeat of ISIS through the region.”
He added, “ISIS remains a threat, not only to the region but well beyond.” CENTCOM also claimed that no civilians were killed in the operation but coalition forces are “asserting reports of a civilian injury.”

It also said that the drones used to attack had been harassed by Russian warplanes earlier in the day, as per Al Jazeera. On Friday’s attack, CENTCOM said that it “was conducted by the same MQ-9s (drones) that had … been harassed by Russian aircraft in an encounter that had lasted almost two hours.”

Russian military aircraft disturbed US drones participating in operations against ISIL in Syria on Thursday for the second time in 24 hours, a US commander reported at the time.

“The planes dropped flares in front of the drones and flew dangerously close, endangering the safety of all aircraft involved,” said Air Force Lieutenant General Alexus Grynkewich, read a report published in Al Jazeera.

Grynkewich has stated that three Russian jets dropped parachute flares in front of US drones on Wednesday, forcing them to evade, and has urged Moscow to “cease this reckless behaviour.”

US Reaper drones and Russian aeroplanes engaged in two distinct incidents on Wednesday and Thursday, according to video footage released by the US.
A diplomatic row briefly broke out earlier this year, when the US alleged that Russian jets were to blame for the downing of the USD 30 million Reaper drone, which was packed with sensitive US spying technology and was operating over the Black Sea.

Although Moscow denied that its jets were to blame for the drone that crashed into the water in March, US military video showed Russian planes performing manoeuvres to obstruct the drone’s flight path, according to Al Jazeera. President Bashar al-Assad’s administration in Syria counts Russia as a crucial ally.

Assad has gained back a lot of the ground that was lost in the early phases of the Syrian crisis, which began in 2011 when the regime ruthlessly suppressed pro-democracy protesters, with the help of both Moscow and Iran.

The Idlib region in northern Syria, which is controlled by rebels, is one of the remaining strongholds of armed opposition to Assad’s regime. The United States has roughly 1,000 troops stationed in Syria as part of global efforts to combat ISIL, which was destroyed in Syria in 2019 but still retains hideouts in remote desert regions and still carries out periodic attacks, Al Jazeera reported.

Uttar Pradesh: Mohammad Arif escapes with family after toilet blast that was heard up to 15 kilometres near Nepal border

On Friday, July 7, 2023, a powerful blast occurred in the Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh, situated along the Indo-Nepal border. The impact of the explosion was so immense that its sound reverberated up to a distance of 15 kilometres. The force of the blast caused windows and door panes in the vicinity to shatter. The incident took place in the Harraia Satgharwa area, specifically in the abandoned toilet of a person named Mohammad Arif, also known as Guddu Dhania, who had not been using that toilet for quite some time.

Residents of Majre Nai Bazaar in Gugauli Kala were startled by the sudden blast on that fateful Friday night. The blast’s intensity was such that it caught the attention of people who were 15 kilometres away from the site. Upon reaching the location, it became evident that the explosion had demolished the long-neglected toilet belonging to Mohammad Arif. The surrounding houses also suffered cracks due to the impact.

Soon after the blast, Mohammad Arif, along with his family, fled their residence. The police promptly arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation. A team from the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) was deployed to inspect the presence of any hidden explosives. Villagers alleged that the incident was a result of a concealed bomb kept by Arif.

According to Keshav Kumar, the Superintendent of Police in Balrampur, the blast originated from the septic tank of the toilet. The authorities dispatched a canine unit and a forensic team to the spot. Although the dog squad did not find any explosives, the forensic team collected samples from the site for further testing. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported. The police have taken necessary legal actions and the investigation is ongoing.

Septic tank blast, although rare, is not uncommon. Methane gas is produced when the waste products are broken down in septic tanks, which is a highly flammable gas, apart from some other gases. For this reason, ventilation is essential in septic tanks, so that the gas can escape into the atmosphere. When the gas outlet gets blocked, the gas can build up inside the tank, and sometimes it causes explosions, especially if there is a fire or spark in the vicinity. There have been cases of deaths and injuries as a result of such blasts, along with property damage.

Apart from causing dangerous explosions, the gases are also harmful if inhaled, and there have been reports of deaths and injuries of sanitary workers due to inhalation of septic tank gases.

However, in this case, as the toilet was not in use for a long time, the cause of the blast is not confirmed yet. However, preliminary reports suggest the blast occurred at the septic tank.

As per media reports, the voter turn out in this year’s Panchayat election was around 66.28 percent. Around 5.67 crore individuals residing in the state’s rural areas were eligible to exercise their right to vote.
Earlier, BJP, Congress, and other political parties had accused the TMC has brought down a reign of terror and has stifled democracy within the state. After numerous incidences of politically motivated incidences of violence, arson, and killings of party workers, the State BJP President Dr. Sukanta Majumdar had to write a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah to intervene and restore democracy in West Bengal.

SP leader poses as a vegetable vendor who hired bouncers to protect pricey tomatoes, PTI presents it as a real incident

On the evening of July 9th, the Press Trust of India (PTI) reported a peculiar case in which it was claimed that a vegetable seller had to hire bouncers to safeguard pricey tomatoes from theft. Citing the steep prices of tomatoes, the official Twitter handle of PTI made this claim.

The tweet read, “A vegetable vendor in Varanasi, UP has hired bouncers to keep customers at bay when they come to buy tomatoes, whose price has increased massively over the past few days.” The tweet also included a video in which the ‘shopkeeper’ gave reasons for the same while talking with the news agency.

The ‘vegetable’ vendor Ajay Fauji said, “I have hired bouncers because the tomato price is too high. People are indulging in violence and even looting tomatoes. Since we have tomatoes in the shop, we don’t want any arguments, so we have bouncers here. Tomatoes are selling for Rs 160 per kg. People are buying 50 or 100 gms.”

Based on this tweet, several prominent Twitter handles including that of Former UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav took a jibe at the Union government. SP Chief Yadav shared the PTI video making the same claim. He made a light-hearted comment stating that the BJP should provide Z-plus security to the tomatoes.

However, the fact is that the PTI’s tweet is misleading. The shopkeeper in question, Ajay Fauji aka Ajay Yadav, is a political worker affiliated with the Samajwadi Party (SP), which was not disclosed in the tweet. He has been conducting various activities over the last few days over the high price of vegetables, especially tomatoes, and it was only a part of such a stunt. But PTI presented him as a real vegetable vendor who hired two bouncers to protect tomatoes.

Ajay Fauji has a long history of political association with SP, and is an active leader. He is the son of the veteran SP leader Satish Fauji, who was a district president of the party.

This omission of political affiliation, in PTI’s tweet, can lead readers to believe that the incident was simply an extraordinary occurrence involving an ordinary vegetable seller.

However, considering his political affiliation, it is obvious that it was a political gimmick aimed at targeting the ruling government. By presenting it as a unique event on the ground, the PTI misleads readers by missing the underlying political motives behind the act.

Apparently, several Twitter users highlighted this major omission in PTI’s tweet and how it could mislead the general public. Some of the Twitter handles also shared Ajay Fauji’s picture with SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav. Later, the news agency deleted the misleading tweet after being called out by netizens.

However, in its report, the PTI itself mentions Ajay Fauji’s political association with the Samajwadi Party. His political association with SP is evident from his Twitter handle in which he himself claims to be an Akhilesian by heart. Additionally, on his Facebook profile, he claims that he works at Samajwadi Party.

In most of his photos on social media, Ajay Fauji is seen with an SP’s green and red scarf around his neck, which was also seen in the video, making his political link clear. Despite that, PTI presented him as a real vegetable seller.

The PTI report also highlighted that he was the same SP leader who earlier cut a tomato-shaped cake in Varanasi on the birthday of Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav.

Earlier, on the 1st of July, Ajay Fauji pulled a similar political gimmick when he celebrated the SP chief Akhilesh Yadav’s birthday with a tomato-shaped cake to highlight the soaring prices of the vegetable, in Varanasi. Similarly, he has a track record of pulling political gimmicks in the past and was also arrested.

In February 2020, he was arrested by the Varanasi police for breaching PM Modi’s security. The media back then had reported that one Ajay Yadav, son of former Samajwadi Party district chief Satish Fauji, dangerously jumped on the road as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s convoy came near. He also waved a party flag and a black jacket in protest.

Ajay Fauji’s social media profiles on Facebook and Instagram are filled with work he has been doing as a loyal party worker, and there is no indication that he is a vegetable vendor by profession. His posts also show that in April this year, he was busy campaigning for his wife Sanju Yadav for the municipal elections in Seer Govardhanpur in Varanasi. He is also a former member of the District Planning Committee of the UP government.

Update: PTI issues clarification

Later in the day, PTI posted a tweet claiming that it came to know that Ajay Fauji is an SP leader later. It tweeted, “Earlier today, PTI tweeted a story about a vegetable vendor in Varanasi hiring bouncers in light of high price of tomatoes. It has since come to our notice that the vendor is a worker of the Samajwadi Party, and his motive for giving us the information was questionable. We have, therefore, removed the tweet.”

Informing that the tweet has been deleted, PTI said that it erred in not verifying the antecedents of the source for the story.

However, the claim that PTI didn’t know that the ‘vegetable vendor’ was a SP leader is questionable, because, in their own wire report, they clearly mentioned that he is a leader of the Samajwadi Party. They even mentioned that he is the same leader who had cut a tomato shaped cake. The PTI story was published by several media houses.

Diplomatic and VIP areas in Chanakyapuri get flooded after Delhi receives the highest rain in 41 years, NDMC advises officials to evacuate

0

The luxurious diplomatic enclave of Chanakyapuri, posh colonies including Bharti Nagar and other areas housing VIPs were inundated as the national capital on Sunday witnessed an unprecedented amount of rainfall, shattering a 41-year record.

Due to heavy rainfall and waterlogging in various areas of the national capital, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has advised senior bureaucrats residing on the ground floors to relocate to safer places as a precautionary measure. In a span of 24 hours, ending at 8:30 am on Sunday, Delhi recorded 153 mm of rainfall, marking the highest single-day rainfall in July since 1982, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

There were reports of house collapses and waterlogging in several residential colonies. Waterlogging issues were also observed in diplomatic enclaves such as Chanakyapuri, Kaka Nagar, Bharti Nagar, and other prominent roads and colonies under the jurisdiction of the NDMC.

A senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer living in the Bharti Nagar area had to vacate her house with her children as rainwater entered the premises due to the continuous downpour. The NDMC has advised residents on the ground floors to find alternative accommodations until the water subsides.

“People living on ground floors have been advised by NDMC to shift to some other place till the time water subsides. We have disconnected the power supply fearing electrocution. I have shifted to my colleague’s house who lives on the first floor in another location in Delhi,” said the official, who wished not to be named.

The power supply has been disconnected in affected areas to prevent the risk of electrocution.

Another senior official expressed dissatisfaction, stating that they had raised the issue with the NDMC on Saturday, but the staff made various excuses. Now, water has entered their homes. In response, the NDMC has deployed machinery to flush out the water from affected houses.

“I along with my wife and children have shifted to a hotel till the situation becomes normal. After repeated complaints, NDMC has deployed a machine in the society to flush out water that has entered the houses,” said another official.

The NDMC attributed the worsening situation of overflowing major drains due to continuous rainfall, resulting in the flooding of VIP colonies in the capital.

Meanwhile, NDMC officials are working tirelessly to prevent further waterlogging in their area. Several complaints of waterlogging and fallen trees have been received, and the concerned teams are promptly attending to them.

The NDMC has established control rooms and deployed portable water pumps in strategic locations to address the monsoon challenges and prevent waterlogging during heavy rains.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took note of the incessant rainfall in Delhi and spoke with the Lieutenant Governor to stay updated on the situation. The downpour has significantly affected traffic movement in various parts of the city.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi recorded 153 mm of rain in a 24-hour period, the highest for a single day in July since 1982.

As per the India Meteorological Department, the Safdarjung area in New Delhi witnessed the third-highest 24-hour rainfall for the month of July on the 8th and 9th of July, 2023, since 1958.

The Safdarjung weather station, which is the city’s weather base recorded 153 mm of rain till 8.30 am, the IMD said in a tweet along with the details of the five highest rainfall records of 24-hour rainfall in the month of July for New Delhi (Safdarjung) during 1958-2023.In 1958, Safdarjung Observatory had recorded 266.2 mm of rain during the July 20-21 period while in 1982, it logged 169.9 during the July 25-26 period, IMD said.

In view of incessant rains in the national capital, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday spoke to Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena and took updates.

Shah spoke to Delhi LG as moderate to heavy rain lashed several parts of the national capital and its adjoining areas. The downpour slowed down the traffic movement after waterlogging in several parts of the city.

Pictures and videos of commuters wading through knee-deep water flooded social media platforms, raising concerns about the efficiency of the city’s drainage infrastructure.

Considering the situation, Delhi Traffic Police kept updating Delhi’ites about traffic affected in parts of the city through its Twitter account by uploading pictures of the waterlogged areas.

In a recent alert through one such tweet, the Delhi Traffic Police mentioned, “Traffic is affected in the carriageway from Kalindi Kunj towards Okhla and vice-versa due to waterlogging and breakdown of vehicles at Okhla underpass. Commuters are advised to avoid these stretches”.

“Traffic is affected on Bhairon Marg in the carriageway from Ring road towards Mathura road and vice-versa due to waterlogging under Railway bridge Bhairon Marg. Traffic is diverted towards Pragati Maidan tunnel,” another tweet of the Delhi Traffic Police mentioned.

United States: TikTok’s ‘boat jumping’ challenge claims 4 lives in Alabama, officials urge people to stay away from it

In recent months, at least four people, including a father, reportedly died as a result of caving into a dangerous new TikTok trend. A boat jumping challenge wherein people jump from the rear of the vessel while it is moving at a high speed has proved fatal for many.

According to Captain Jim Dennis of the Childersburg Rescue Squad, the thrill-seekers leapt or flipped off the backs of speeding boats only to break their necks on the wake and drown. “Last six months we have had four drownings that were easily avoidable. They were doing a TikTok challenge. It’s where you get in a boat going at a high rate of speed, you jump off the side of the boat, don’t dive, you’re jumping off feet first and you just kinda lean into the water.”

“I think individuals caught up in the accident were likely to do something stupid because they wanted to show it off on their social media for clout and their friends,” he mentioned and expressed his concern that this fatal fad will grow over the summer. “That is a very big concern because we have seen this pattern emerge over the last two years and it’s sporadic. But it’s something that needs to go away and stay away.”

The captain noted that although the challenge dubbed as boat jumping, has been a problem for first responders for the past two years, it has gotten worse since the beginning of the year. The first victim drowned in the Coosa River in February while his wife, three children and other closed ones looked on from the boat. “Unfortunately, she recorded his death,” the official informed.

A middle-aged male was involved in the most recent occurrence in May. He is appealing to people to refrain from doing the challenge and requesting that loved ones keep their family and friends from jumping. “Do not do it. It’s not worth your life.”

Any variation of the two terms, such as “boat jumping” brings up videos of daredevils potentially experiencing what he dubbed “instant death.” The participants range from all ages. The landing pad is hazardous and feels like concrete due to the boat’s fast rate of speed and the motionless water. Without protecting their neck and head, a person jumping from a moving boat risks becoming permanently paralysed, if not possibly dying instantly.

Jim Dennis recommended dialling 911 right away if anyone doesn’t see their loved one resurface after jumping. He advised, “Try to stay in the region, but if you must depart, make sure to mark the place with something from the boat, your phone, or your boat’s technology.”

While the people are jumping into the water as part of the challenge, it is causing severe injuries and fractures. Because when someone jumps from a speeding boat, the water acts like a hard surface, resulting in severe injuries. In all four deaths, the necks of the victims broke, resulting in instant deaths.
