Canadian Parliament observes silence on death anniversary of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Khalistanis protest near the Indian consulate in Vancouver

On 18th June, Canadian Parliament observed a one-minute silence to mark the first death anniversary of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in the House of Commons. Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) chief Nijjar was killed on 18th June 2023. He was one of the 40 designated terrorists whose names appeared in a list released by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

Notably, four Indian nationals Karan Brar, Amandeep Singh Kamalpreet Singh and Karanpreet Singh have been arrested for killing Najjar. They were allegedly linked to Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The arrests were made in May 2024.

The moment of silence was observed after the question period on 18th June. Calling the members to observe a moment of silence, Speaker Greg Fergus said, “I understand there is an agreement to observe a moment of silence in memory of Hardeep Singh Nijjar assassinated in Surrey, British Columbia, one year ago today. I now invite all of the members to rise.”

Khalistanis in Canada hold mock hearing, charge PM Modi for Nijjar’s death

On the other hand, pro-Khalistani elements living in Canada observed Nijjar’s death anniversary by creating a mock court to hear the case of Nijjar’s murder against Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. The fake court hearing was held on Howe Street, near the Indian consulate in Vancouver. The mock trial included a jury made up of actors and a judge donning a white curly wig. An effigy of PM Modi dressed in prison stripes was brought to the fake court in a makeshift cage before the trial began. Interestingly, the photograph of PM Modi they used on the effigy donned a tilak pointing out towards his Hindu identity.

Jatinder Singh, a member of Khalistani terrorist organisation Sikhs for Justice accused PM Modi of “executing” Nijjar. He said, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. This crime was against a Canadian citizen and it was perpetrated on Canadian soil, however, the conspiracy and ultimate responsibility were hatched thousands and thousands of kilometres away in India.”

The mockery of freedom of speech and expression in the form of a mock court trial against PM Modi took place next to the Indian Consulate building which was guarded by several police officials. Speaking to media Jatinder Singh claimed that the aim of the mock trial against PM Modi was to send a message to India that the issue of Nijjar’s murder was not going away. “When you ask for independence and sovereignty, there’s always a risk. We must continue because if we don’t, then our children will also face the same danger, as their children, and their children. We must stop this danger to our people,” he said.

Observing silence in the parliament and allowing a fake trial to be run against PM Modi happened days after the Canadian Prime Minister said in a statement that Canada was willing to work with India on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Italy.

Murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar and Canada’s politically motivated accusations against India

On 18th June 2023, Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar was murdered in Canada. Khalistani elements accused India of killing Najjar. Almost three months after the murder, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau make shocking accusations against India in Canada’s Parliament. In his statement, Trudeau claimed that there were “credible allegations” against India. Following the accusations, Canada immediately expelled the top Indian diplomat.

In retaliation, India rejected the claims calling them absurd and expelled Canadian diplomats with immediate effect. From that day, the snowball rolled in a way that the relationship between Canada and India got worse. In October, India asked around 40 Canadian diplomats and their families to leave the country which they did by the end of the month. Furthermore, India has remained strong on its stand that no Indian agents were involved in Nijjar’s murder. So far, Canada has failed to provide any credible evidence against India that links any Indian agents to the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

Canada celebrated Nazi soldier

Nijjar is not the only terrorist or criminal that Canada has celebrated in its parliament. On 22nd September, the Canadian House of Commons gave a standing ovation to Yaroslav Hunka, a World War II veteran who fought for “Ukrainian independence” against Russian aggressors. This is how the speaker of the House, Anthony Rota, introduced him. The 98-year-old war veteran, however, was a member of a SS unit, the 14th SS-Volunteer Division “Galicia”, established in 1943 by the Nazis. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was also present during the occasion.

Notably, SS was the main paramilitary group under Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party in Nazi Germany and was primarily responsible for tunning Holocaust operations. 14th SS-Volunteer Division Galicia was made up of volunteers, which means that Yaroslav Hunka joined the unit on his own will, and was not conscripted. A controversy erupted by the move leading to Speaker resigning from his post. Notably, Canada has given shelter to many war criminals, terrorists and gangsters over the years.

Pakistan police arrest 36 Ahmadis who were organising Qurbani at their homes on Bakrid, last year animals worth Rs 531 billion were sacrificed in Pak

The persecution of the people belonging to the Ahmadi community in Pakistan seems to be at rock bottom as the police arrested as many as 36 members of the community for celebrating Eid-Al-Adha or Bakrid or Bakri Eid. The Ahmadis were arrested for organising Qurbani (sacrifice) on the occasion of Eid.

Last year’s statistics provided by the tanners associations in Pakistan show that over six million animals valued at approximately Rs 531 billion ($1.9 billion) were sacrificed during the three-day Eid festival in 2023 and this year it has been reported that the numbers would touch 6.8 million. While animal sacrifice is a routine practice in Pakistan during Eid, the Ahmadis are restrained from practising their Islamic rites since they are recognised as non-Muslims in Pakistan.

“At least 36 members of the minority Ahmadi community have been arrested for offering sacrificial animals for slaughter on Eid-ul Adha in the country mostly in Punjab province,” Amir Mahmood, an official of the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Pakistan, which represents the minority community in the country, told news agency PTI.

Accusing authorities of preventing Ahmadis from offering their religious rites within the confinement of their homes during Eid and detaining people with their sacrificial animals, the official added, “Preventing Ahmadis from offering their religious rites within the confinement of four walls is a grave violation of their human rights as well as a clear violation of the judgements by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.”

Mahmood alleged that Tehreek-e-Labbiak Pakistan (TLP) has been inciting hostility towards Ahmadis and putting pressure on the police to prevent members of the minority group from carrying out their religious rites. The group was being persecuted, he asserted, especially in the Punjab area, by both law enforcement officers and radicals.

He said that Ahmadis were prevented from conducting Eid prayers on Monday. The police have also threatened Ahmadiyya leadership with “immediate danger” from the TLP if they are discovered conducting the ‘Qurbani’ or offering Eid prayers.

“It has come to be known that the intelligence agencies have also issued a threat alert on the occasion of Eid against Ahmadis,” Mahmood said. The Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Pakistan has demanded the immediate release of the Ahmadis detained on Eid and urged authorities to take steps to ensure their religious freedom.

Meanwhile, videos have emerged on social media showing Pakistan police raiding the houses of members of the persecuted Ahmadi community and arresting people for offering Qurbani at their homes.

Notably, last year too, the Punjab police in the Islamic state of Pakistan issued a directive to stop minority Ahmadi Muslims from organising Qurbani (sacrifice) and offering Namaz, even from within their houses, during the Islamic festival of Bakrid.

Local media reports suggested that the notice had been sent to all local police stations asking police personnel to stop Ahmadis from performing Qurbani, as it is “offensive to other Muslims”.

The police as per the reports, have warned that if any Ahmadiyya persons violate these directives, they could face jail or financial penalty under 298-B and 298-C (Ahmadi blasphemy laws) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Bihar: Portion of newly constructed bridge over Bakra river collapses in the Araria district, no casualties reported

A segment of a newly built bridge over the Bakra River collapsed in Pararia village, located in Bihar’s Araria district, on Tuesday, according to a police officer. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

The bridge, built by the state government for Rs 12 crore, had not been opened to the public as the approach roads were still under construction.

The bridge connects the Kursa Kanta and Sikti areas in the Araria district.

Reportedly, the bridge, which spans the fast-flowing Bakra river, tilted to one side before collapsing. A crowd gathered on the banks, capturing the scene as the collapsed portion was quickly washed away. People were seen running to safety as the incident unfolded.

Speaking to PTI, Amit Ranjan, Superintendent of Police (SP) in Araria, confirmed, “A portion of a newly constructed bridge over the Bakra river has collapsed. Officials have arrived to examine the situation.”

The cause of the collapse is still unknown, he added.

Reacting to the incident, Sikti MLA Vijay Kumar Mandal blamed the construction company’s negligence for the collapse. “The bridge collapsed due to negligence by the construction company’s owner. We demand an investigation by the administration,” he stated.

Similar bridge collapses have recently occurred in the state.

In March, an under-construction bridge over the Kosi river collapsed in Supaul district, resulting in one death and ten injuries.

It is alleged that Zubair, Ansar, Imtiyaz, Kamil, Jabir, and Shakil along with their accomplices brutally assaulted a Dalit couple. It is further alleged that they hurled casteist abuses and also robbed the couple. The incident took place on Sunday (16th June 2024). Speaking with OpIndia, the victim stated that following the incident, her husband is in depression. However, the SHO of the local Bichhor police station stated that they had no information about this case.

The case pertains to the Bichhor police station area of Nuh. Archana Sagar filed a police complaint on Sunday. In her complaint, Archana stated that on 16th June, she was coming to her parent’s house in Jharokadi village from her in-laws’ residence. She was accompanied by her husband Parveen Rai. As soon as they reached near the badi masjid in the village, Zubair, Ansar, Imtiyaz, Kamil, Jabir, and Shakil stopped their car. Three other unknown persons were also reportedly with them. Later, they pulled Archana out of the car. The assailants also started assaulting and kicking Archana’s husband Parveen.

The complaint further states that shortly thereafter, the accused tore Archana’s clothes. The victim called her father, Dalchand, for help. At that time, the accused gathered and assaulted the girl’s father. By then, the number of attackers had reached around 20. Seeing the family being beaten, Archana’s brother also arrived to intervene, and he too was beaten. It is alleged that during this time, the attackers pulled Archana’s mangalsutra and ring along with the gold chain from her husband’s neck.

The victim stated that during the assault, the perpetrators hurled abuses and casteist slurs at her. The attackers said, “You Cha**o, how dare you sit in the car and pass in front of us? Cha**o, do whatever you are capable of!” The victim’s family dialed 112 to call the police for help. Seeing the police arrive, the accused fled from there. The victim has demanded strict action against all the attackers in her complaint. OpIndia has a copy of the complaint.

A collision between a car and a bike leads to an argument

OpIndia spoke with the victim Archana. Archana told us that she got married in May 2024. She was visiting her parent’s house for the first time with her husband. On the way, a bike belonging to a young man from the Muslim community collided with her car on a narrow road in the village. However, neither side suffered any significant damage, and they continued on their respective paths. Archana claims that this incident led to the assault on her and her husband.

She also told us that because of the assault, her husband is in depression. The married couple sustained injuries for which they are undergoing treatment.

‘We belong to the SC (Scheduled Caste) community, they did not like us traveling by car’

Archana described her village as Muslim-dominated, stating that about 90% of the population belongs to the Muslim community, which holds dominance. Archana, an M.Sc. graduate, mentioned that they belong to the Dalit community, which she attributes as the main reason for the resentment of Muslims towards them. The victim stated that the majority of Muslims in the village disapprove of people from the Scheduled Caste community traveling by car and pursuing higher education.

I am being asked to compromise

The victim stated that on Monday (17th June), police visited their village. She alleged that during this time, none of her grievances were heard, and the police took the side of the accused. According to Archana, the police officers who came to the village dismissed it as a minor altercation and asked her to compromise.

The attackers fled after getting a signal

A video of the girl’s father Dalchand is with OpIndia. In this video, he alleges that some villagers helped the attackers as they gave them a signal to flee from there. He mentioned that not only his daughter and son-in-law but the attackers also beat him, his wife, and the entire family. Dalchand’s wife was being dragged away by the accused. Somehow, she managed to free herself. The victim’s family has requested the police to file a case and take action against the accused.

Police don’t know anything

OpIndia contacted the SHO of Bichhor police station regarding this incident. When asked about the incident, he said, “I don’t know, brother.” When we tried to contact the Additional SP of Nuh for information about this incident, he did not answer the phone. Once an official version of the incident comes from the police, it will be updated in the news.

A shocking case of sexual assault on a cow has come to light in the Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh. Bhura Shaikh, son of Yakub, has been accused of committing the heinous act. Pakistani spies used three apps to retrieve confidential data from honeytrapped BrahMos missile engineer Nishant Agarwal’s laptop

Nishant Agrawal, a former BrahMos scientist, was recently convicted to life imprisonment by a sessions court for passing military secrets to Pakistan. Nishant, who worked in Nagpur’s missile assembly unit, was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terror Squad (UP-ATS) in 2018.

The Sessions Court convicted him under Section 235 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Agarwal was found guilty of violating Section 66(f) of the IT Act and other provisions of the Official Secrets Act (OSA) for disclosing sensitive data concerning armaments to foreign entities.

During the Nishant Agrawal trial, UP-ATS investigation officer Pankaj Awasthi stated that a person named ‘Sejal’ created a Facebook account from Pakistan to trap Agarwal. The chats between Brahmos Aerospace missile engineer Nishant Agarwal and Pakistani spy ‘Sejal’ revealed that she was part of a group that shared data and tips for deceiving Indian defence officials.

According to Awasthi, Agrawal installed three apps on his laptop in 2017 after following Sejal’s instructions and clicking on URLs she sent. The apps were Qwhisper, Chat to Hire, and X-trust.

The three applications were malware that accessed Nishant’s personal laptop and extracted classified information. Investigations have found that vital information pertaining to the BrahMos missile was found on his laptop, which violated BAPL’s security standards. Nishant also communicated with Sejal on LinkedIn, where she expressed interest in recruiting him as a recruiter at Hays Aviation in the UK.

It is pertinent to recall that Nishant Agarwal, who worked as the senior systems engineer at Brahmos Aerospace, was arrested in October 2018 on espionage charges by the UP ATS. He was found guilty of sharing confidential information in the trial held in Nagpur and has recently been sentenced to life imprisonment.

As reported earlier, Brahmos Aerospace is tasked with developing the supersonic Brahmos missiles that are considered the fastest cruise missiles in the world. The Nagpur Brahmos unit where Nishant Agarwal was employed makes propellants for the missiles.

Bihar: RJD leader Bima Bharti’s son gave out contract to kill businessman Gopal Yaduka in Purnia, police says he had mutton party after the murder

In a shocking revelation, it has emerged that RJD leader Bima Bharti’s son Raja has been accused of giving the contract for the murder of Gopal Yaduka, a businessman in Bihar’s Purnia. Yaduka was killed on 2nd June this year. Raja, who is now absconding, had allegedly arranged for shooters to murder the businessman, and police are searching for him. Notably, Bima Bharti recently contested the Lok Sabha elections on an RJD ticket.

Purnia police have shared the details of the murder of hardware businessman Gopal Yaduka. According to police, Gopal Yadav and Raja’s friend Sanjay had a land dispute and Sanjay was looking for someone to shoot Gopal Yaduka. When he failed to find the shooters, he informed Bima Bharti’s son Raja, who arranged shooters to get Yaduka killed.

As per the police, the deal to kill Yaduka was settled for Rs 5 lakh and the contract was given to a shooter identified as Vishal. Vishal had involved another criminal, Vikas Yadav, in this murder. They both murdered Gopal Yaduka on the morning of 2nd June. Sanjay and Raja’s friend Brajesh Yadav were also present during Yaduka’s murder.

Following the murder, the police said that the four gathered at Raja’s home in the Kadva Vasa area for a mutton party. During the party, Raja gave Rs 48,000 to Brajesh Yadav and Rs 50,000 to Vikas Yadav. Prior to the murder, Vikas had already received Rs 76,000. After the murder was revealed, the police arrested Vikas Yadav, Brajesh Yadav, and Sanjay. Upon learning of the police action, Raja has absconded, meanwhile, the police is conducting searches to arrest him.

With the revelation of Raja’s involvement in this case, questions are being raised over Bima Bharti. Bima Bharti ran for Lok Sabha elections in 2024 from Purnia on an RJD ticket and received only 27,120 votes. She has been an MLA from the Rupauli assembly constituency five times. Before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, she quit the JDU and joined the RJD. A by-election will be conducted again for the Rupauli seat. After losing the Lok Sabha elections, Bima Bharti is looking for a ticket from here.

On 18th June, Bima Bharti said that she or her husband will contest from the Rupauli seat. Bharti, however, did not comment on her son’s alleged involvement in Gopal Yaduka’s murder. Notably, Bima Bharti’s son Raja was seen standing next to Tejashwi Yadav during a Lok Sabha elections rally.

Meanwhile, Bima Bharti has said that all these allegations are false against her son and her son is being targeted by the Nitish Kumar government. She said that her son will come to the police station to give his statement.

Kerala High Court issues notice to CM Pinarayi Vijayan and his daughter Veena in a corruption case

On Tuesday (18th June), the Kerala High Court issued notice to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter Veena Thaikandiyil, and others while hearing a petition filed by Congress MLA Mathew Kuzhalnadan who has accused them of corruption. In his plea, the Congress MLA has demanded a probe against the CM over the alleged financial transactions between his daughter’s now-defunct IT firm and a private mining company.

Justice K Babu notified CM Vijayan, his daughter Veena, her firm Exalogic Solutions, and the mining company Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd (CMRL). The matter will now be heard on 7th July.

It is pertinent to note that the opposition parties including Congress have been launching scathing attacks on the Chief Minister, his daughter, and the ruling CPI(M) after it was reported that CRML paid Rs 1.72 crore to Veena’s IT firm between 2017 and 2020. It was alleged that though her IT firm didn’t render any service, the amount was paid monthly “due to her relationship with a prominent person.”

Leader of Opposition in Kerala assembly, VD Satheesan said that the Congress party was strongly behind MLA Mathew Kuzhalnadan’s legal fight. Kuzhalnadan approached the High Court after a vigilance court rejected his plea that sought a court-monitored probe into the allegations of corruption against the CM and his daughter. On 6th May, the Special Judge (Vigilance) had rejected the complaint. The vigilance court had stated that necessary facts constituting corruption were absent in the plea.

In his plea, the Congress MLA had sought a Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department probe into the allegations that Veena’s IT firm Exalogic got monthly gratification from CMRL for mining sanctions.

The alleged financial transactions have been under agencies radar

Incidentally, several agencies, including the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO), and Income Tax Department, have recorded the statements of many people, except T Veena in this case. Earlier, on 27th March 2024, it was reported that the ED had filed a money laundering case against them in connection with the said “illegal payments” to CM’s daughter Veena and her company without the IT firm offering any service to the mining company.

Reports citing sources stated that ED had booked Veena and others after taking cognisance of a complaint filed by the SFIO which is an investigative arm of the Union corporate affairs ministry. According to reports, the SFIO was already investigating transactions suspected to be illegal payments for favours received by a mining company from the Kerala government for sand mining in coastal areas of Alappuzha and Kollam.

The case regarding ‘illegal financial transactions’ was highlighted by the Congress leader last year based on an Income Tax Settlement Board statement which pointed out that Exalogic Solutions received Rs 1.72 crore from CMRL.

In his complaint, the Congress MLA had alleged that CMRL made some bogus payment to Exalogic Solutions and Mrs. Veena Thaikandiyil. It is alleged that the payment was made to obtain favours from the CM and ensure the company’s smooth operation. Additionally, it is claimed that a monthly payment of Rs. 3,00,000 was made to Exalogic under the guise of availing its IT and marketing consultancy services. Furthermore, an amount of Rs. 5,00,000 was allegedly paid each month to Mrs. Veena Thaikandiyil, purportedly for engaging her as an IT and Marketing Consultant.

Reportedly, Exalogic Solutions is a one-person company, and Veena Thaikandiyil, daughter of the Chief Minister, is its sole director.

Meanwhile, a similar petition was filed by a Kochi resident on alleged corruption by CM Vijayan, but the petitioner died. During today’s hearing, the High Court appointed an amicus curiae and stated that both petitions, though similar, would be heard separately.

Hindu family in Pune assaulted by Monty Sayyed, Jameer, and others after argument over Eid goat hitting a child: Exclusive report

On Monday (17th June), in a shocking incident, a Hindu family residing in the Yerwada region of Pune was brutally assaulted by a large Muslim mob resulting in severe injuries. The Hindu family was immediately shifted to the Sassoon Hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile, the city police has reportedly booked 5 persons including 3 minors, and detained 12 persons in the given case.

The adults who have been booked by the police have been identified as Monty Sayyed and Jameer Sayyed.

The FIR copy of the said incident has been obtained by OpIndia. The sections imposed by the Pune Police in the given case are sections 143 (unlawful assembly), 147 (punishment for rioting), 149, 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult or provocation), and 337 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

As per the complaint filed by complainant Ravi Vishwakarma, the incident is said to have happened on Sunday (16th June) evening when the 3-year-old Hindu girl from his family was playing in the courtyard. Meanwhile, the 3-4 minor boys belonging to the Muslim community, residing in the same area were playing with the goats which their family had got for slaughter on Bakrid.

One of the goats ran and hit the girl after which her family rushed to the courtyard to see what had happened. As they asked the boys about the incident they began arguing with the Hindu family members and also began assaulting them. The Hindus asked the boys to avoid playing with animals like this on the street as they (animals) may harm small kids, but they (the accused minor boys) threw a cycle on the head of the complainant and also abused his Hindu family.

Further, the boys called their elders, Monty Sayyed, 38, and Jameer Sayyed, 40 who reached the spot. The duo then began hitting the Hindu family members. The members from the minority community are also said to have pelted stones at the Hindu family. They also attacked the family using rods and sticks.

The complainant then managed to call the police who rescued the family and sent them to the hospital for proper treatment. The FIR has been filed against only 5 members belonging to the minority community, however, it is believed that around 10-20 members launched an alleged attack on the Hindu family. The CCTV footage of the incident has been obtained by OpIndia in which around 10-20 members can be seen gathering around the Hindu family.

OpIndia talked to Ravi Vishwakarma who filed a police complaint in the case. He confirmed the incident and claimed that around 12 persons had been detained by the Police in the given case. “12 have been detained so far. We are demanding action against all those who were involved. They hit my family with stones and cycles. Further procedure is underway. We demand strict action,” he said.

The FIR in the given case has been filed against 5 persons including 3 minors. The adults who have been booked by the police have been identified as Monty Sayyed and Jameer Sayyed. Further investigations are underway.
