India and Russia continue to have deeper energy links that are structural rather than transactional. While Rosneft owns over 49% of Nayara Energy's Vadinar refinery in Gujarat, Indian PSUs possess nearly half of Rosneft's Vankorneft subsidiary, a substantial investment in Taas Yuryakh, and a longstanding position in the Sakhalin-1 project.

While decades separate Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Sheikh Hasina, there are parallels in their cases. Both reached the pinnacle of power and popularity in their respective countries, and both ended up getting accused of centralising authority. Both faced allegations of electoral fraud and dictatorial conduct by the opposition. Both of them were abruptly and forcibly removed from power, and their departure plunged their countries into the jaws of Islamist fanatics and triggered chaos.

Governor Abbott’s order details CAIR’s ties to convicted extremists, references the FBI decision to cut contact in 2008, and triggers enhanced penalties under Texas law by designating the group a foreign terrorist and transnational criminal organisation.

The events titled “The Weaponization of Hinduism in Northern Carolina and India and the Relationships to Global Religious Nationalisms” are being co-organised by the Islamist group IAMC.
