Andhra Pradesh: 60-year-old Maulana belonging to YSRCP attempts to rape 6-year-old child, locals thrash him and hand him over to the police

60-year-old Maulana Khaja Hussain has been accused of attempting to rape a 6-year-old girl in the Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh. He is reportedly a member of the YSR Congress Party. The authorities have nabbed him and commenced an investigation into the incident.

According to reports, the accused tried to sexually assault the victim in the Rudrampeta region. However, he was immediately caught by locals. An angry mob first thrashed him and then shaved his head and beard. His clothes were removed and he paraded through the streets while soot was applied to his face. Family members and residents transported took him to the Fourth Town Police Station and handed him over to the cops after learning about the occurrence.

The people charged that the police were trying to protect the perpetrator, leading to a tense atmosphere in the area. The matter is currently under inquiry and additional legal proceedings are in progress.
