Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, accompanied by her cabinet colleagues, paid a courtesy visit to Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu at Lok Niwas on Tuesday, marking a key interaction between the elected government and the administrative head of the national capital.
In a post on X, CM Gupta described the meeting as a “positive step” towards reinforcing the shared commitment to Delhi’s inclusive development and public service. She emphasised that sustained dialogue and coordination between governance and administration form the bedrock of the city’s progress and good governance.

“On this occasion, there was a meaningful and detailed discussion on major public interest schemes and our vision to develop Delhi as a modern and world-class capital,” Gupta stated. She reaffirmed the government’s “full dedication and commitment” to ensuring a bright future and holistic development for every citizen of Delhi.
The meeting took place in the Lok Nivas, the Lieutenant Governor’s official residence. In a post on X, the LG’s office said that the CM and her colleagues apprised the LG of ongoing initiatives towards building a Viksit Delhi. LG Sandhu flagged key challenges and opportunities, areas of cooperation and the collective resolve to develop Delhi as a “global capital”.

Cabinet minister Kapil Mishra said that visit will prove to be a positive and strong step towards Delhi’s bright future. He added that there was an extensive discussion on various ongoing development schemes for Delhi’s comprehensive growth, as well as new opportunities, in the meeting.
Senior officers of the Delhi government, including Chief Secretary Rajeev Sharma, also met LG Sandhu. The LG reviewed key governance and administrative matters concerning Delhi with him. Further, the LG had meetings with the police commissioner and special commissioners of the Delhi Police.
The visit underscores the constitutional importance of smooth coordination between Delhi’s elected government and the Lieutenant Governor’s office, especially on key issues such as urban infrastructure, public welfare schemes, and the city’s transformation into a global capital.
