Nephew of gangster Sadiq Kalia avenges death of uncle after 27 years, kills ‘police informant’ responsible for his encounter in 1991

On Monday (20th April), the nephew of gangster Sadiq Kalia avenged his death by killing a police informant, responsible for his uncle’s encounter in 1999.

According to reports, the informant was a 78-year-old man named Iqbal Ibrahim Seliya. On Monday, Sadiq Kalia’s nephew Javar and Naushad walked into the home of Iqbal in Mumbai’s Nagpada and attacked him with a chopper 20 times. Iqbal was left to die in a pool of blood.

The duo then went to Antop Hill, followed by Vidyavihar and then took a train to Kalyan. Later, they hired a vehicle to reach Nagpur. The accused were arrested in the city on Friday (24th April). Javar and Naushad confessed to their crime and their escape plan.

They were brought to Mumbai for further legal processes. It must be mentioned that gangster Sadiq Kalia was killed in a police encounter in Mumbai in 1999. The operation was led by encounter specialist Daya Nayak. At that time, Javar was just 2 years old.

Sadiq Kalia was reportedly recruited by gangster Chhota Shakeel into the gang of Dawood Ibrahim. He was involved in multiple killings in Mumbai along with his aide Munna Jhingada.
