‘Kyun desh kharab kar rahe ho’: Passenger confronts CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke at Delhi airport

Public outrage erupted when Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke arrived at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on 14th October (Wednesday). His constant propaganda against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) was questioned by a passenger.

The latter can be heard asking, “Kyun desh ko kharab kar raha hai, bhai (Why are you spoiling the atmosphere of the country),” as Dipke waved and gave him a thumbs-up while walking away. However, airport security guards and local police quickly intervened to prevent any disorder.

The CJP, alongside other opposition parties, has been protesting against the SIR drive, alleging electoral fraud. They are calling for Kumar’s immediate resignation. CJP leaders, including Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das, were previously detained while attempting to organise an unauthorised rally at Jantar Mantar, which was later removed from the list of approved protest venues. They were released after signing a Rs 50,000 surety bond and committing to maintain peace as well as good behaviour for a year.

However, party leaders, including Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das, subsequently attempted to enter Jantar Mantar in violation of the restrictions, after which they were apprehended and remanded to five days of judicial custody. Two First Information Reports (FIRs) were filed against them by the Delhi Police. Criminal trespass, unlawful assembly, infraction of official commands, and blocking public personnel from carrying out their responsibilities are the charges against them.

Notably, CJP supporters were found inciting the participants to engage in vandalism, violence and unlawful conduct ahead of its 10th October protest. Furthermore, its July agitation against the government was marked by serious instances of violence in which several police personnel were subjected to grave attacks.
