Rajasthan: ‘Salesman’ Shahrukh, working at garments shop, secretly records videos of women changing clothes in trial room, gets arrested

In the Chidawa area of Rajasthan’s Jhujhunu, a man named Shahrukh Maniyar, working as a salesman at a readymade garments shop, Zamzam Collection, was caught secretly making videos of women inside the shop’s changing room. The police have arrested the accused Shahrukh.

On Saturday (6th June), at around 5 pm, a woman came to a Muslim-owned Zamzam Collection shop with her husband and children. The woman went to the changing room to try the outfits she picked. However, she found that Shahrukh Maniyar was making a video of the woman with his mobile through a small hole in the room’s ceiling.

The woman came out and informed her husband about the matter, and her husband confronted Shahrukh. Shahrukh Maniyar was caught red-handed watching a changing room video recorded on his iPhone. The victim immediately called the police.

The police searched Shahrukh’s phone and found numerous objectionable videos and pictures of women visiting the garments shop.

According to the police, the initial investigation itself revealed 10 extremely obscene photos and three long videos, which were secretly recorded in the last three days alone.

Further investigation is reported to have revealed that not only salesman Shahrukh but the shop owner and other employees have also been found to be involved in this crime. The victim alleged that the shop owner and his associates tried to conceal the crime, stoked fear of social stigma, and even offered money in exchange for not escalating the matter with the police. However, the victim did not budge and proceeded with seeking police intervention.

The police arrested the main accused, Shahrukh Maniyar, and further investigation is underway. The incident sparked outrage among locals. A large crowd gathered outside the shop and protested. The angry locals demanded stern action against the accused.
