The religious conversion case of Ayush Malik in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli has taken a new turn. Ayush, who had converted to Islam and renamed himself Mohammad Ali after being brainwashed by female Muslim gym trainer Chandni Qureshi, has now returned to Hinduism.
After reaching his home on Monday, 29th June, he released a video saying that he had converted to Islam earlier, but now he had decided to return to Sanatan Dharma.

In the video, Ayush apologised to his parents and relatives. He said, “Mother, seeing your pain, I have come back to my original religion, Hindu Dharma, of my own choice. Please forgive me.” He also said he now wants to spend his life under the love and care of his parents.
Performs puja after returning home
Soon after coming back, Ayush offered prayers at the temple inside his house. He lit a lamp for the aarti, applied a tilak to Lord Hanuman, and sought blessings from his mother by touching her feet. His family said he returned to Hinduism from the heart and without any pressure.
Ayush is the only son of Shamli-based medicine trader Devraj Malik. After converting to Islam, he changed his name to Mohammad Ali. He had also started offering namaz, kept a beard, wore a cap, and had stopped living with his family.
Marriage and conversion become part of the police case
Ayush had married gym trainer Chandni Qureshi around five years ago. His family says Chandni influenced him to change his religion because of money and property. They also claim that after the conversion, Ayush became distant from his family.
The matter reached the police after Devraj Malik filed a complaint, saying his son’s conversion was not done willingly and that some people wanted to take control of Ayush’s property by drawing him into a love trap.
Following the complaint, the police registered an FIR against 11 people, including three maulanas, at the city police station. As part of the investigation, the police arrested Chandni Qureshi and her father, Islam Qureshi. The investigation into the case is still underway.
