According to the police, the victim is a resident of a slum cluster in Pitampura and is employed at a factory in Mangolpuri. She was walking to her home after finishing work when a sleeper bus arrived at the B-Block bus stand in Saraswati Vihar. The victim walked towards the man standing at the door of the bus to ask him the time.
However, the man pulled her inside the bus, and the driver drove the bus towards Nangloi. She was gangraped on the moving bus by two men, and was thrown out in Nangloi after the bus had travelled about 7 kilometres. The incident took place on Monday night in Delhi’s Rani Bagh area.
The victim is married and has three children. The FIR was lodged after her examination, and the vehicle allegedly used in the crime has been seized. The bus involved in the incident has been identified as Royal Travels & Cargo
According to the Hindu, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Outer District, Vikram Singh, said that the allegations of the bus moving around the city are false. “The call was made by one of the accused himself, and as senior officials reached the spot, there was no question of their running away. The medical examination of the victim was done immediately, and after that, an FIR was registered,” Singh said. An investigation is going on in the process.
