Investigators in Delhi found links to an earlier Firozabad case where Kamruddin allegedly lured victims with occult promises, administered poison during rituals and was later charge sheeted, with courts refusing bail on merits.

Gujarat sessions court cited prima facie evidence, involvement of minors, alleged inducement of tribal communities, fund flows, absconding accused and witness intimidation risks while refusing bail after completion of investigation and filing of charge sheet.

The Supreme Court noted, “The rights of an individual are always subservient to the nation’s interest, the High Court fell in error in granting bail.”
