The incident pertains to the Khajrana Police Station precinct wherein Bajrang Dal activists informed the police about an offensive Burqa-like attire being used for the idol of Maa Durga.

The incident unfolded in the Madhai region of the Ranjhi area of Jabalpur. The Hindu rights organisations alleged that the mosque question was built over land allotted for a Hindu temple. Members of the Bajrang Dal were detained after they staged a protest against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Ahmbedabad on Saturday, over his alleged "anti-Hindu" remarks in the Parliament.

17 of the 30 accused identified in the case are Ayaz Qureshi, Munaf Qureshi, Ayub Qureshi, Rashid Mian, Imran Mian Qureshi, Maqbool Mian Qureshi, Jani Kamruddin, Rais Mian, Mehboob Khan, Malek, Sameer, Manan Harun, Nisar's brother, Rafiq Bhatte, Nisar Mian, Babu Akbar, Yunus Mian, and Feroze Mian.

Bombs were made by pouring gasoline into glass and plastic bottles and magazine was also seized from police personnel.
