Byju’s, once valued at $22 billion, faced financial and legal woes due to mismanagement, controversial sales tactics, and legal disputes, leading to office closures and the ousting of its CEO, Byju Raveendran.

According to the EPFO data, Byju’s has also failed to deposit monthly provident fund (PF) payments for several employees since December.

A year ago, Byju Raveendran's net worth stood at ₹17,545 crore ($2.1 billion) However, in the wake of a series of crises, his net worth has dropped to zero.

In previous years, Byju’s laid off thousands of its employees and recently it defaulted in paying the full salaries of its employees for February.

Once lookout circular is issued, Byju Raveendran would not be allowed to leave the country after he returns to India.

The case was filed on 8th September and officially registered on 15th November pertaining to the dispute around sponsorship rights of the Indian cricket team's jerseys.

The development comes a day after the company failed to meet the deadline to clear the dues of the employees who were laid off.
