Christian conversion

According to the FIR, which was accessed by OpIndia, for the past year, some teachers have been preaching Christianity in the school and luring students and their parents to convert to Christianity by offering them jobs and other opportunities.

A case of conversion has come to light in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. An attempt was being made to change the religion of children outside Madhav Rao Sapre school. Three women have been arrested in this case. The women were trying to deceive the children outside the school. Allegedly, the three women were asking children to go to church and convert to Christianity after a holiday outside the school.

Missionary organisations have been offering money to people and providing facilities like installing hand pumps to lure people to convert.

John Matthew and his son in law has been arrested. The missionary's daughter and grandchildren were also staying with him.

On refusing to convert to Christianity, the student was thrown out of he classroom and was not allowed to sit for the examination.

Locals said that the missionaries gave them bottles filled with special water and advised them to drink it for 20 days. They also asked locals to chant 'Hallelujah'.

Following the uproar by Hindu activists, police reached the spot and arrested six individuals, including Pastor Deepak Singh Sidar, Pooja Sidar, Deepa Gotel, Gurvinder Singh, Shivkumar Dhivar and Madhu Kumar.

The victim's father alleged that pastor Jashan Gill lured her daughter and raped her. He forced her to undergo an abortion after she got pregnant without informing her family.

The Gond and Baiga tribal children were fully converted to Christianity. They pray to Jesus, hold Bibles, and follow Christian rituals. The Baiga tribe, which is already facing extinction in many regions, is reportedly being aggressively targeted by such missionaries.
