The demolition of illegal structures in Rajkot’s Jungleshwar area has sparked a debate between humanitarian concerns and legal enforcement.

The management committee of the shrine declined to dismantle the unlawful structures despite offering numerous assurances.

This comes almost a month after the CIDCO had assured action against the illegal dargah that was posing a potential threat to national security as complained by the local Hindu activists. The Dargah notably was located on the CIDCO property near the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport site.

The Hindu outfits stated that the structures were built in secrecy during the lockdown at the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
