Amitesh Kumar and his wife Sadhna Kumari recognised some of the attendees of Muharram procession. They said, "They attacked us without any reason. I was driving slowly on the side, the procession was there, and some of their members, whom I recognised, attacked us. We recognised them very well. When they are caught, then the reason will be understood."

Superintendent of Police Anoop Kumar Singh said, "A video has been brought to over notice via social media under Musafirkhana Police Station. Persons appearing in the video have been detained for questioning. An FIR has been registered in the matter. Investigation is underway. Appropriate action will be taken in the matter."
