The hunger for Muslim votes is so intense that it has overflowed beyond the borders of Bengal and reached Bangladeshi infiltrators who are not only embraced but also facilitated by Mamata's administration. It is evident that these she and Humayun are aligned in their approach towards Muslim appeasement.

The Muslim mob thrashed several reporters and photojournalists and even molested some of them. One case in point is that of Soma Maiti, a female journalist who works for Zee 24 Ghanta News. She was punched, kicked and sexually assaulted in the middle of the road.

Hargobindo Das and his son Chandan were lynched to death by a bloodthirsty Muslim crowd in the Murshidabad district.
