Regarding Pakistan's endorsement to opposition leaders, PM Modi said, "I am not aware why certain people are liked by those who harbour animosity towards us. Why does support emerge from there (Pakistan) for a few individuals? This is a matter that requires thorough investigation."
Opposing the religion-based reservations, PM Modi said that the Opposition (INDIA bloc) can perform "mujra" (dance) before their vote bank if they want, but he will not let them snatch away the reservation benefits of the SC/ST/OBC communities guaranteed by the Constitution of India.
Highlighting the central government's guarantee to implement the Uniform Civil Code in the country, PM Modi criticised the Congress for opposing the same.
"Whether it is national security, protecting culture and heritage or the country's development, the Punjab and Sikh community has always been at the forefront. From farming to industrialism, the people of Punjab have given their contribution. But what have 'Kattar' corrupts done to Punjab?", PM Modi asked.
According to market experts, Indian indices had shown mixed performance over the previous week amid the ongoing elections, but investor confidence in the Indian market is rising as the result date approaches.
