The father of the girl sought help from the Bajrang Dal workers who aided the family in registering a case against her tormentor, Khan.

The accused teacher tried to rape the minor girl who had come to take tuition from him in February 2022. He later murdered the girl after she refused to cooperate. He strangled her to death and flew away from the spot.

Four of these eight men took the minor Dalit girl to the third floor of the house and three men gang-raped her at knife point.

Kanoongo expressed apprehensions that the present case of alleged rape of the minor girl is not an ordinary case rather it could be a case of trafficking, which needs thorough investigation.

When the victim's parents questioned her, the girl said two persons, Sappi and Subhan (age not verified) had raped her and her sister for more than 18 months. A medical examination was done on her sister and she was also found pregnant.

The family alleged that local leaders of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) threatened them and asked them to remain silent on the issue and not speak about the matter. TMC has denied involvement.

According to police, the 17-year-old girl eloped from Ajmer with her minor boyfriend on Saturday, 15th of July. After reaching the Jodhpur bus stand on Saturday night, they searched for a place to stay nearby. 

Bombay High Court said that time has come to lower the age of consent for minors to engage in consensual sexual relationships.

Based on a complaint by the victim's father, the Wankaner police registered a case against Siraj Munna Bukhari under sections of the POCSO Act and initiated legal proceedings.
