On the night of the rape and murder of the trainee doctor in RG Kar Medical College, prime accused Sanjay Roy reportedly called Kolkata police ASI Anup Dutta.

While recounting the mob issuing rape threats, she said, “We felt as if the same fate that happened to the victim, for whom we came here to stage a protest, would happen to us. And tomorrow someone else will protest for us. There was no safety and security.”

The BJP has launched a scathing attack on the TMC government accusing it of attempting to save the disgraced former principal of RG Kar Hospital, Sandip Ghosh. Taking to X, BJP Social media head, Amit Malviya said that it was nothing but a move by CM Banerjee to save Ghosh.

Notably, the apex court has taken suo moto cognizance of the rape and murder case that took place at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on 9th August. 

The senior advocated alleged that Mamata Banerjee-led TMC planted goons over the RG Kar Hospital attack.

"The parents of the victim girl refused it (money) because they didn't want to be a part of the game played by the chief minister," informed Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya.

Senior Trinamool Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sukhendu Sekhar Ray has been served a notice by the Kolkata Police for tweeting "wrong information" about the probe in connection with the RG Kar hospital rape and murder case.
