"On March 18, slogan-shouting Khalistani supporters had broken through the makeshift security barriers raised by the city police and put up two so-called Khalistani flags in the Consultate premises, damaged the consulate building, assaulted and caused injuries to the consulate officials", the NIA statement read.

"Recent reports including in media of the handling of Ms Jaahnavi Kandula’s death in a road accident in Seattle in January are deeply troubling," the Consulate General of India stated on X (formerly Twitter).

The Khalistanis set the Indian consulate building on fire between 1:30 am and 2:30 am on July 2.

During the attack on the Indian High Commission in Canada, a grenade was also thrown, prompting the Special Cell to register an FIR under the UAPA and the Explosive Act in this instance.

According to a witness who was present when the shooting occurred, the block party took an unanticipated turn for the worst as she saw blood and bodies on the floor.

The San Francisco Police Department informed that no arrests have been made so far in connection to the case.

A large number of Indian-Americans held a peace rally in support of India in front of its consulate in San Francisco that was vandalised by separatist Khalistanis.

"We strongly suspect Pakistan's ISI is behind instigating and funding Sikh radicalization with false propaganda. We ask Indian Americans including Sikh-majority to rise against the extremism," read FIIDS statement.
