The National Commission for Scheduled Castes Chairman Vijay Sampla has sought a report over the killing of the Dalit man from the Director General of Police, Haryana, within 24 hours.
A badly mutilated corpse of a man, whose hands were chopped and legs cut, was suspended over a police barricade, reportedly by Nihang Sikhs for allegedly committing blasphemy.
Dalits and Minorities Organisation Punjab head Dr Kashmir Singh opined that to counter the menace of missionaries in the Dalit Sikh community, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) should include the Dalit community.
“targeted killing of the members of minority communities had once again reminded of the gory incident of massacre of 36 Sikhs in Chattisinghpora village of Anantnag in 2000.”
