West Bengal SSC Scam

The ED arrested TMC MLA Jiban Krishna Saha from his Murshidabad home after a five-hour raid in the SSC recruitment scam case.

The police, alongside the Rapid Action Force (RAF,) were equipped with tear gas vehicles in advance to quell democratic protests against the Mamata government.

According to a report by ABP Ananda, OMR (optical mark reader) sheets were manipulated for the appointment of 2823 employees in the Group D category. About 170 people were given jobs directly without issuing recommendation letters.

In his affidavit for the 2021 assembly polls, TMC MLA Jafikul Islam declared an income of Rs 8 lakh for the financial year 2019-20. His wife's income for the same period was reported as Rs 6 lakh.

When TMC youth wing leader Kuntal Ghosh was under investigation, Saayoni Ghosh's name appeared several times. Therefore, the central agency has summoned her.

Abhishek Banerjee appeared before the CBI where he had been called as part of the agency's probe into the school jobs scam.
