IUML promised Rohith Vemula’s mother a house of her own, yet to keep their word she claims

The News Minute has reported that the mother of deceased student Rohith Vemula has claimed that the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has not yet delivered on their promise of providing Radhika Vemula with a house. She told TNM how she was made to attend rallies and events by the leaders of party and had her for their political gains, all the while keeping her hopes alive of a house. Radhika Vemula also spoke of two cheques worth Rs. 2.5 lakhs which were given to her, out of which one bounced.

“I thought about returning back, but they insisted that the event had been organised and claimed that they even had a cheque worth Rs 15 lakh was ready on the table and they would hand it over to me. Even though they had been promising this for two years, I was still hopeful and I went,” she said recounting an occasion when she considered not attending an event as her daughter-in-law was having a child. However, Subair (General Secretary of Youth Wing of Kerala unit of Muslim League), ignored her as soon as her speech was over. “His aides even assured me that they would meet me at the airport, but we waited for as long as we could and left,” she added.

Radhika Vemula has long since been associated with the IUML. In 2016, she along with Rohith Vemula’s brother, attended a rally in Kerala. In the same year, the Muslim League had taken upon itself the task of constructing a house for her.

Mr Donald Trump, the Strait of Hormuz was open and toll-free before you started the war against Iran, so what victory exactly are you...

Before the war endangered commercial shipping in the world’s most energy-focused trade route, tankers moved smoothly through the Strait with no tolls imposed on routine traffic. After the U.S. and Israel started bombing, Iran retaliated by shutting it down, attacking vessels, and the U.S. imposed its own blockade.
